We praise your great protection O Virgin which you spread forth like a radiant transcendent cloud. Invisibly, you guard your people from every foe's attack. Since you are to us a shelter and a sure defense, we cry to you with our whole heart: Glory to your great deeds, O Lady. Glory to your divine shelter. Glory to your divine providence. O Most Pure Virgin!

Protected by Your coming, O Mother of God, we faithful solemnly celebrate today; and gazing on your spotless image, we cry out from the depths of our hearts: protect us with your precious veil and deliver us from all evil, by asking Your Son, Christ our God, to save our souls!

Kontakia of the Holy Protection (Greek usage)

Let us the faithful hasten now to the Theotokos; let us venerate Her sacred veil as we sing fitting hymns of praise: for She shelters all Her faithful and preserves them from danger, so that they may cry out to Her; Hail, O virgin, our most radiant protection!

Kontakia of the Holy Protection (Slavic usage)

Today the Virgin is present in the Church, and with the armies of Saints, she prays to God on our behalf. The Angels worship with the Hierarchs, and the Apostles rejoice with the Prophets, because the Theotokos makes supplication for us to the Eternal God.

Icons are by a Palestinian in the West bank who asked that she remain anonymous when she showed me these. In the late 1970's, she came to the United States and found an empty and superficial hyper-sexual culture at war with the truth. She became depressed and sought professional help. A Jewish doctor at a famous medical institution gave her electroshock therapy and experimented on her with new anti-psychotics which gave her neuroleptic side effects that lasted a lifetime. She returned to Palestine. One of the most happy days of my life was when I heard around 2014 that she had become a daily celebrant in the ancient Divine Liturgy promised to Jacob in his dream about the stairs to Heaven. Within a week of getting her second COVID shot, she became an invalid and has needed constant care since.
