Turin: Archbishop Dismisses Three Verbo Encarnado Priests

The anti-Catholic Roberto Repole, a follower of Bergoglio and leader of the Archdiocese of Turin, Italy, has decided to remove Fathers Giuseppe, Alessandro and Danilo of the Institute of the Incarnate Word from two thriving parishes that they have served for years.

From 1 September, the three priests will be removed from the parishes of Maria Madre della Chiesa and Beato Pier Giorgio Frassati. "No blame, no explanation. Just arrogant silence and betrayed people”, writes La Voce (11 June).

This decision was made a year ago, but remained hidden until Friday 7 June, when it was announced during a meeting organised in the church of Maria Madre della Chiesa.

Parishioners had requested a meeting with the archbishop, who failed to appear. Instead, he sent Don Mario Aversano, accompanied by Don Ugo Pozzoli and Don Alberto Savoldi.

The three bureaucrats tried clumsily to steer the evening towards spiritual themes by reading passages from the Gospel on 'obedience'. But the audience was not fooled. Everyone spoke: parents, young people, catechists and long-standing parishioners.

They all testified to the good that the three priests had done. They all asked for one thing: the truth.

“Why are you sending them away? What have they done wrong? Why won't the bishop receive us?' Where is the listening? Where is the synodality🤡?' Don Aversano was unable to answer these questions. He spoke of an unspecified 'dissonance' and finally appealed to a generic 'secret'.

After days of silence, Repole's curia stammered that the two priests had shown a 'lack of harmony' with diocesan guidelines.

In reality, the two parishes have flourished under the leadership of the two priests, defying the trend.

Their 'lack of harmony' with the decadent diocese stemmed from their love of the Eucharist, respect for the liturgy, call to confession and adoration, and commitment to Catholic doctrine.

According to MessaInLatino.it (13 June), the eviction of the two priests is the result of a specific ideology: 'a silent purge, disguised by curial bureaucracy and words such as "discernment" and "communion".'

The parishioners have written directly to the leader, Roberto Repole. What was the response? None.

The three priests will be replaced by 76-year-old Don Igino Golzio, a retired priest who was ordained in 1984.

The Archdiocese of Turin emerges from this affair more divided, disheartened and empty. The presbyteral council has been reduced to a decorative body. The Curia resembles a soulless administrative machine, and the parishes – the real ones, made up of ordinary people who pray and have hope – are treated as a nuisance.
