Why Did Francis Eliminate One of His Auxiliary Bishops?
Reina will be made a Cardinal in December. Everybody who does not belong to Reina’s magic circle is eliminated.
This corresponds to the management in Santa Marta where Francis is ruling the Church "by the sound of friendships and morning moods."
His recent decision for the Roman Diocese is in keeping with this. On 31 October, he removed Monsignor Dario Gervasi, 56, as auxiliary bishop of Rome and shifted him to the useless ad hoc position of an Adjunct Secretary of the Dicastery for the Laity Family and Life.
There, the bishop will be second after the secretary, Mister Gleison De Paula Souza, 40, who from 2005 to 2016 belongt to the Sons of Divine Providence ("Orioniti") but then was dispensed from his final vows and got married.
SilereNonPossum.it comments: "This is the synodal Church, where [well paid] laypeople get the positions while the clerics serve them coffee."
Within six months, Monsignor Gervasi is the third (!) bishop of the Diocese of Rome who was removed by Bergoglio. The two others are Cardinal Angelo De Donatis, 70, who in April was made Major Penitentiary, and Auxiliary Boishop Daniele Libanori, 71, who also in April was made a “supervisor for Consecrated Life”, whatever that means [probably nothing].
Gervasi was considered “close to De Donatis”. According to SilereNon Possum.it, Gervasi was made an auxiliary bishop in 2020 after he had created a series of problems in the Parish of the Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ where he had been the parish-priest since 2014.
SilereNonPossum.it: “He was a good priest who, however, did not even have the ability to say no to the many people who tried to take advantage of him in the parish (homeless, money seekers, etc.)”.
The webpage calls him “one of the many priests who are elected to the episcopate by Francis without assessing the real governing skills a bishop should have.”
However, incompetence was not the reason for Gervasi’s removal. His “big fault” was that he did not side with Monsignor Reina.
In the meantime, Baldassare Reina has ordered the priests, not to call him “Baldassare” in the Eucharistic Prayer of the Eucharist.
The reason: “Otherwise everyone makes a mistake and calls me Baldassarre [last “a” short instead of long] with the wrong accentuation.”
SilereNonPossum.it: “Eh, the great problems of the Church....”
