Given Pope Francis and Pope Leo XIV’s public devotion to the idol and goddess Pachamama and their efforts to promote similar deities among Christians, what options do the faithful have?
2) Does any human creature made of clay (Genesis 2:7), conceived in sin, born in guilt (Psalm 50:7), that maggot, a worm (Job 25:6), who will be judged by God upon death (2 Timothy 4:1), have any justification for leading souls to the devil?
a) Ecclesiasticus (Sirach) 15:20; “He never commanded anyone to be wicked, nor did He give anyone permission to sin.”
b) Exodus 32:21–23; Moses said to Aaron, “What has this people done to you that you have brought such a great sin upon them?”
c) Deuteronomy 30:17-18; “But if your heart turns away and you do not listen, but are led astray and worship other gods and serve them, I declare to you today that you will surely perish.”
d) Jonah 2:9; “Those who worship vain idols forsake their own salvation.”
e) 1 John 5:21; My children, keep yourselves from idols.
3) To whom do the Faithful owe OBEDIENCE, to God or to men?
a) Acts 5:29; “Peter and the apostles replied, ‘We must obey God rather than men.’”
b) Acts 4:19-21; So they summoned them and ordered them not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus. But Peter and John replied, “You must decide for yourselves whether it is right in God’s sight to obey you rather than God.”
c) Galatians 1:9-10; “I repeat what we told you before: if anyone preaches a gospel different from the one you have heard, he must be condemned.”
d) Matthew 15:13; “Every plant that my heavenly Father has not planted will be uprooted.”
4) The Fate of Certain Authorities Who Committed Idolatry:
a) 2 Kings 1:2-4; Ahaziah sent messengers, saying to them, “Go and consult Baal-Zebub, the god of Ekron, to see if I will survive this calamity.” But the Angel of Yahweh said to Elijah the Tishbite: “Arise and go up to meet the messengers of the king of Samaria and say to them: Is it because there is no God in Israel that you are going to consult Baal-Zebub, the god of Ekron? Therefore, thus says Yahweh: You shall not come down from the bed on which you have gone up, for you shall surely die.” And Elijah went.
b) 1 Kings 14:7, 9–11; Go and tell Jeroboam: “This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: You have done more evil than all who were before you, and you have gone and made other gods for yourself—cast images—to provoke me to anger, and you have cast me behind your back. Therefore, I will bring disaster upon the house of Jeroboam and cut off every male of Jeroboam’s line in Israel, whether slave or free; I will wipe out the house of Jeroboam as one sweeps away refuse. Those of Jeroboam who die in the city will be eaten by dogs, and those who die in the field will be eaten by the birds of the sky, for the Lord has spoken.”
