Educating True Communicators versus 'technical training'

The communication departments of 45 Catholic universities from 43 countries gathered in Rome for the first congress of its kind, organized by the Pontifical Council for Social Communications.
Maria Teresa La Porte Alfaro, Dean of the Communications Faculty at the University of Navarra, highlights the role of these curriculums in the social, economic and cultural fields.
"It is the responsibility of these faculties to present its work to the Catholic Church, as it undoubtedly is a social agent, with a tremendously important impact, not only in social and cultural areas but also in political and economic spheres as well."
