Trump "removes the protection against discrimination for queer people and no longer recognises gender minorities," Monsignor Schepers told Kna.de (28 January).
"Every attack on the rights of queer people threatens the rights of all people who do not conform to the narrow ideas of how one should look and behave," he added.
After his inauguration, Trump returned to common sense by ordering that only the two genders (the ones which actually exist) will be politically recognised.
He stopped "radical and wasteful" funding for homosexual propaganda, which he said was inappropriate preferential treatment.
Trump also banned chemical and surgical mutilation ("sex reassignment") of minors in the public health system.
