Leo XIV in Francis' Footsteps: "Poor Are Center of Gospel" - "Earth Weeps"

Pope Leo XIV welcomed on June 16 the Bishops of Madagascar in audience and praised their decision to come together to the Vatican:

“It is a good sign of unity, already agreed with beloved Pope Francis, whom we feel spiritually present also at this time.” He reminded the prelates that Francis has visited Madagascar in 2019.

Then, Leo XIV repeated Francis’ mantra that “the poor are at the centre of the Gospel”. And, “Following Pope Francis, I invite you to take care of our common home, to preserve the beauty of the Great Island, whose beauty and fragility have been entrusted to you. Care for our home is an integral part of your prophetic mission."

He asked the bishops to "take care of creation, which weeps."

The Lord & His Blessed Mother weep because of the rampant heresy, apostasy, grave sin committed by the majority of baptised Catholics in the world today.... at all levels....the consequences being Hell forever if there is no repentance. Now that really is something to weep about!!!

"...preserve the beauty of the Great Island, whose beauty and fragility have been entrusted to you." Betcha my bishop didn't know he was entrusted with the beauty and fragility of the state he lives in. Maybe this new duty could be added to the episcopal consecration rite.

I seem to remember a similar verse from the Gospel, but I do not remember any reference to "creation."
