Are the Dominican Sisters of Pontcallec Facing a General Liquidation?
This variant consists of accepting the liturgical calendar and the readings of the Novus Ordo. One week a month, except on Sundays, the "full Novus Ordo", whatever that means, is presided over in the houses of the sisters.
PaixLiturgique.fr stresses that this will cause liturgical chaos: "How can we reconcile the readings for the 6th Sunday of Ordinary Time in Year C, which falls on 16 February 2025 (green chasuble), with the prayers, psalms and antiphons for the Septuagesima Sunday of the Roman Rite for the same date (purple chasuble)?"
Abbé Beauvais of the FSSPX priory in Marseille commented: "In blind obedience, the will is asked to do what is the role of the intelligence." And: "The intelligence has to shut up; it's the will that takes precedence and says: Since the order has been given, you must do it".
Mother Marie Ferréol, who opposed this dictatorship of the will, was expelled from Pontcallec. A civil court found the Dominican sisters of Pontcallec guilty of not respecting their own rules in dismissing her.
According to PaixLiturgique.fr, the sisters have chosen the path of total liquidation, abandoning Catholic life for aridity.
