Pubblichiamo un contributo di Luis Cano da una raccolta di testimonianze di sacerdoti della Società Sacerdotale della Santa Croce, realtà composta da chierici fondata da san Josemaría nel 1943 e indissolubilmente unita all’Opus Dei. Le testimonianze si basano sugli archivi e sui colloqui con alcuni di questi sacerdoti, che chiesero l’ammissione in questa società sacerdotale dal 1950 in poi.

Don José Domínguez è nato a Pontevedra nel 1932, nel territorio della parrocchia di Santa María de Luneda che guarda verso il Portogallo; è tuttora vivente e gode di ottima salute. Sua madre si diede da fare per mandarlo in seminario e perché abbandonasse il villaggio, nel quale badava agli animali e guadagnava qualche soldo (100 pesetas al mese, circa 70 centesimi di euro di oggi) lavorando sulle montagne per la riforestazione. Comunque dovette guadagnarsi una borsa di studio perché sua madre non aveva la possibilità di pagargli gli studi.
Suo padre militava nel partito comunista ed era emigrato in Argentina prima della guerra civile. Dopo la guerra si portò in Argentina anche la madre di don José e i suoi due fratelli. Tentò di convincere il figlio seminarista ad andare con loro in Argentina e a non diventare prete; però don José si oppose, fu ordinato sacerdote nel 1960 e chiese l’ammissione nella Società Sacerdotale della Santa Croce.
Le sue origini umili e la preoccupazione per la gente semplice hanno segnato la vita di questo sacerdote. Quando era seminarista trascorreva i mesi estivi a Bilbao e a Saragozza, lavorando nelle botteghe Mercier e nella Naval Española, frequentando gli operai. Poi il suo vescovo lo destinò alla parrocchia di Lavadores, un quartiere di Vigo conosciuto in gergo come la piccola Russia per i numerosi comunisti che la abitavano. Egli stesso – mi disse – pensa che in quegli anni sessanta e settanta del XX secolo, di grande agitazione politica in Spagna, sarebbe diventato anche lui un rivoluzionario se non fosse stato dell’Opus Dei.
La sua attività parrocchiale al servizio della diocesi lo portò anche a essere per molti anni cappellano di una scuola di Vigo. Mi ha spiegato di non essersi mai trovato di fronte al dilemma di dover scegliere tra pregare o agire; preoccuparsi delle cose del culto o aiutare i più bisognosi. In realtà la Società Sacerdotale della Santa Croce lo ha aiutato a mettere in pratica molto di ciò che aveva imparato in seminario intorno al carattere comprensivo dell’amore a Dio e agli altri, e in particolare ai più poveri.
I sacerdoti diocesani che aderiscono alla Società Sacerdotale della Santa Croce continuano a essere incardinati nella loro diocesi e il loro vescovo continua a dar loro incarichi, li cambia di parrocchia e così via. L’Opus Dei fornisce loro stimoli spirituali perché riescano a essere buoni sacerdoti, preti santi. Si tratta dello stesso aiuto - circoli, ritiri, convivenze, direzione spirituale, ecc. - che ricevono i membri laici dell’Opera per cercare di vivere il messaggio di santificare la vita di ogni giorno.
Oggi questa società è formata da circa 4.000 sacerdoti di tutto il mondo. La metà appartenevano già all’Opus Dei come numerari prima di essere ordinati sacerdoti. Altri duemila, più o meno, appartengono a diocesi di molti paesi, come Filippine, Stati Uniti, Nigeria, Lettonia, Cile o Libano.

They must know that I have warned my children, all down through the centuries, of this wicked apostasy, which is being planned by the evil one. My Son's Church will be persecuted, destroyed, desecrated - until eventually, it will house the throne upon which will sit the antichrist. It will be from here that he, the antichrist, will declare that he is the Christ and that the world will be saved through him. By accepting lis, you deny the Truth. By ignoring the Truth, you will believe in a fabricated web of deceit, spun by the evil one and this will entrap you. Once entrapped, you will be tempted to follow the crowds, in every nation, who will paygreat respect to the antichrist. Please, children, recite this Crusade Prayer to fight the heresy, which will cover my son's Church on Earth.
"O Mother of Salvation, help me, a humble servant of God, to defend His Most Holy Word in times of torment. Consecrate me, dear Mother, to your Son, so that He can cover me with His Precious Blood. Grant me, through the Intercessionof your Son, Jesus Christ, the grace, the strength and the will to remain true to the Teachings of Christ in the times of Tribolulation, which will devour His Mst Holy Church on Earth. Amen"
Go to mya Son, dear servants of Christ. You belong to Him. He will help you during the persecution. He will never desert you in your time of need.
