Bendeict XVI: Look to God as Redeemer of human justice.

Boethius and Cassiodoro, two Christian philosophers and intellectuals of the fifth century, still speak to the people of today. During today's General Audience, held in the Basilica and then in the Paul VI Hall, Benedict XVI explained how Boethius, unjustly tried and sentenced to death only because of his Christian faith, speaks to the many who suffer the same fate as a result of injustice in human law, remembering that only God is the final end of each creature. Cassiodoro supported the monastic movement and invited his contemporaries as well as the people of today to look to Christ as the rock on which to anchor their lives.
During the first part of the audience in the Basilica, Benedict XVI addressed the representatives of Italian schools, stressing the need to offer pupils valid cultural, social, ethical and religious messages. He who teaches cannot fail to perceive the moral aspect of all human knowledge, because man knows in order to act and his action is the fruit of his knowledge.
