Leo XIV Receives Opus Dei - Severely Damaged By Francis

Today, Pope Leo XIV received the Prelate of Opus Dei, Monsignor Fernando Ocáriz, in an audience. Ocáriz was accompanied by his Auxiliary Vicar, Monsignor Mariano Fazio, an Argentinean.

According to OpusDei.org, the brief meeting was characterised by an “atmosphere of trust”. Pope Leo XIV expressed closeness and affection.

Leo XIV inquired about the ongoing examination of the Statutes of the Prelature and listened attentively to the explanations provided.

Opus Dei was partially dissolved under Pope Francis (Motu Proprio Ad Charisma Tuendum, July 2022). Cardinal Gianfranco Ghirlanda SJ was the main architect of the deconstruction.

The question is whether Leo XIV will restore the original structure of Opus Dei, including consecrated laypeople, and transfer its jurisdiction to the Dicastery for Bishops rather than the Dicastery for the Clergy.

I wonder if such Private Audiences and Meetings as these being currently undertaken by the Holy Father, so early in his reign and before his Installation, are those which were already established and confirmed by the Papal Household prior to Pope Francis' death, which he would have granted while alive and would have received the supplicants if he had lived; thus a continuation of his advanced planned schedule? And Pope Leo, as a courtesy, agreed to fulfill the request for a session with the Pontiff since it was already scheduled on the calendar, though they were originally to have met with Francis. Or, if these are a part of an entirely new scheduling regime, with Audiences and Meetings granted and selected by Pope Leo himself and orchestrated by his own incoming Staff? Hmmmm.....

Sooo interesting how Tucho is hiding while Prevost boils the Catholic frog. Amazing coordination of Bergoglian wolves!
