Still “trouble in paradise” at Ave Maria University

Peg Meyer, long-time member of the President’s Council, learned she was dismissed after having shared concerns about the school’s direction with other council members and the Board of Trustees. Meyer and her husband, Larry, are among AMU’s earliest major supporters; in addition to substantial monetary gifts, they donated AMU’s signature fountains. However, Meyer earned the disapprobation of the AMU administration after sending an email to other members of the President’s Council and the Board of Trustees, including more than 60 letters from faculty, staff, students, parents and donors.
