St. Ubaldus Baldassini, Bishop of Gubbio, his native city, is remembered in central Italy as a Bishop who was entirely devoted to the duties of his office. He had led a life of exceptional austerity. The Collect of the Mass alludes to his power over evil spirits. St. Ubaldus belonged to the Order of Canons Regular of St. Augustine. He died on May 16th, 1160.
