Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Mark 10,1-12.
Jesus came into the district of Judea and across the Jordan. Again crowds gathered around him and, as was his custom, he again taught them.
The Pharisees approached and asked, "Is it lawful for a husband to divorce his wife?" They were testing him.
He said to them in reply, "What did Moses command you?"
They replied, "Moses permitted him to write a bill of divorce and dismiss her."
But Jesus told them, "Because of the hardness of your hearts he wrote you this commandment.
But from the beginning of creation, 'God made them male and female.
For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother (and be joined to his wife),
and the two shall become one flesh.' So they are no longer two but one flesh.
Therefore what God has joined together, no human being must separate."
In the house the disciples again questioned him about this.
He said to them, "Whoever divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery against her;
and if she divorces her husband and marries another, she commits adultery."

Marriage is the greatest sign of God's love
Love and life do not flow from the earth to God, but flow down from God to the earth. “Every perfect gift comes from the Father. » (Jc 1,17) “God is Love. » (1 Jn 4,8) He is love because the Trinity is communion. In the Trinity is unity and fruitfulness. This is where everything starts from. There is a stirring of love on earth that can make us dizzy. From flowers and animals to human beings, this circulation of love surrounds us. So as not to feel foreign to it It is from the Holy Trinity that we must start. There is Love in itself: “true love”. From there descends as if in a cascade all the loves of the world, less and less perfect, but which have their reason for being because they are the sign of the love which exists in God.
From the love of man and woman to that of animals, to the mysterious unions of the elements and metals, all this signifies in a more or less beautiful way the love that is in God. And that reverses the problem. Even the unity of the Word and man, even the union of Christ and the Church are still only the greatest, the most beautiful signs of the love which is God. In marriage, there is a singularly rich vocation to love. It is at the summit of visible creation the most beautiful sign of God’s love. It is great because it is the sign, says Saint Paul, of the love of Christ and his Church. In dissonance with life itself, it is from the Holy Trinity that we must start. There is Love in itself: “true love”. From there descend as if in a cascade all the loves of the world, less and less perfect, but which have their reason for being because they are the sign of the love which exists in God.
