Art and Religion

An Artist's work is not intended to be one intended focal point but rather an invitation to perceive in another way. Sacred Art needs to be seen by the viewer for it to exist. “If a tree falls in the woods does it make a sound?” Walking past an image in your home is like a forest of trees, the viewer is changing during the walk, and when Art does make a sound you notice. Sacred art is not static, those who view the work are in relationship with the image and respond with private interpretations and meaning. Who is that talking with John the Baptist?
