Inter-Religious Calendar: Spanish Bishop "Forgets" the Roman Rite
The liturgical calendar of the original, evergreen Roman Rite was not included.
Hiding behind the "Diocesan Secretariat for Interreligious Dialogue", Monsignor Gómez Cantero explains that with this initiative they want to spread "a message of hope [in what?] and unity [with whom?] at the beginning of this new year 2025″.
He invites "to walk together in the construction of a society based on dialogue, coexistence and mutual respect, especially in the cultural and religious diversity that characterises our province of Almeria".
On 25 March 2023, the same Gómez Cantero transformed the courtyard of Almería Cathedral into a catwalk for scantily clad models.
Two days later, he skipped the celebration of the Annunciation (Almería's cathedral is dedicated to the Incarnation). Instead, he wrote an effusive Ramadan greeting, attended a picnic with Muslims and took part in a cooking show.
On 8 March 2024, he celebrated the socialist "International Women's Day" in his diocese. Parishes received material for a "feminist Eucharist".
