“As newborn babes, alleluia” DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY

Exactly what Our Lord in His infinite Mercy desires for us on Mercy Sunday. Low Sunday INTROIT 1 Peter 2: 2 “Quasi modo géniti infántes allelúja: As newborn babes, alleluia,”

How can one be as a new born? After Baptism there is no “Temporal punishment for sin”.

“I desire that the Feast of Mercy be a refuge and shelter for all souls, and especially for poor sinners. On that day the very depths of My tender mercy are open. I pour out a whole ocean of graces upon those souls who approach the Fount of My Mercy. The soul that will go to Confession and receive Holy Communion shall obtain complete forgiveness of sins and punishment. On that day all the divine floodgates through which graces flow are opened. Let no soul fear to draw near to Me, even though its sins be as scarlet” (699).

Our Lord instituted Confession, Sacrament of Penance on Low Sunday John 20: 19-31
“He breathed on them,
and He said to them, Receive ye the
Holy Spirit: whose sins you shall
forgive, they are forgiven them, and
whose sins you shall retain, they are
retained.”

EPISTLE 1 John 5: 4-10 “This is He that came by water aqua solum, sed in aqua et sánguine. and blood, Jesus Christ; not by water Et Spíritus est, qui testificátur,
only, but by water and blood.”

"O Blood and Water, which gushedforth from the Heart of Jesus as a fount of Mercy for us, I trust in You." (Diary 186-187)

The Red & White Rays of Light from the Heart of Jesus

The red and pale white rays emanating from the Heart of Jesus in the Image of Divine Mercy represent the blood and water which gushed forth from His pierced Heart on Good Friday. Jesus asked that all who venerate His mercy honour His Passion by remembering Him with this prayer at 3 O’Clock in the afternoon. He asks us, “If only for a brief moment, immerse yourself in My Passion, particularly in My abandonment at the moment of agony”. (Diary 1320)
