Vatican Issues a Stamp of For The First US Saint on The Anniversary of Her Death.
saltandlighttv on Jul 27, 2017 On Wednesday, a bomb exploded in Mexico just outside the office of the Mexican Bishop’s Conference, adjacent to the country’s most visited religious site: The Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe.
The motive for the July 25 explosion remains a mystery, though some at the Bishop's Conference say the incident reflects the violence suffered by the society at large, in a country with soaring homicide rates and a decade-long drug cartel crackdown. Monsignor Ramon Castro, Bishop of Cuernavaka, shared on twitter a video taken from within the offices, the explosion that happened on the 25th at about 1:50am just outside the main entrance of the Bishops Conference. Luckily, no one was hurt.
The type of device used and the motive remained unknown, but detectives are still investigating the explosion. I’ll keep you up to date on this as details become available.
Now, in honor of the first US citizen to be canonized, the Vatican has issued a stamp of St. Frances Cabrini on the 100th anniversary of her death. St. Frances Cabrini is the patron saint of migrants and started the, Missionary Sisters of the Sacred-Heart of Jesus, in 1880. Fr. Tom Rosica was just in the Bronx, saying Mass at her shrine, earlier this week and has some thoughts to share, about this amazing saint who, as the patroness of immigrants, is so relevant to migrant crisis that the world faces today.
Today the Missionary Sisters of the Sacred-Heart of Jesus, work as teachers, nurses, social workers in 15 countries around the world. Have a look.
