Brick Parade( St. Marys Assumption Church New Orleans) Clip #2 This is the actual date of the 150th anniversary. The Brick Parade began at 6:30pm Thursday June 24th 2010. The parishioners gathered at the park to witness and participate. "Brick Parade" - to commemorate how our ancestor woman carried bricks to the site of St. Mary's Church in their aprons. When the horse-drawn wagons bogged down in the mud the women trudged their way through the mud to the wagons, loaded their aprons, and brought them to the construction site. That's why we are selling aprons along with the T-shirts.

Pilgrimage to Füssen-Home of Blessed Francis Xavier Seelos. 2nd Official US Pilgrimage to Füssen,Birthplace of Blessed Francis Xavier Seelos. Blessed Seelos was a 19th century Priest of the Redemptorist order who went from Bavaria,Germany to minister to the Spiritual needs of Germans who had emigrated to America.He died at the age of 48 in New Orleans,due to Yellow Fever.He is known for his great love of the Lord and his service of others especially spending many many hours hearing confessions in German,English & French. Blessed Francis Xavier Seelos/Seliger Franz Xaver Seelos. Video taken by my young daughter and myself for the English Website of St Mang Basilica which features Blessed Francis Xavier Seelos.It was taken on 27th July 2009 and shows the Basilica of St Mang where Blessed Seelos was baptised,confirmed and received his 1st holy communion.It also shows the house where he lived after his father became sacristan.Inside of the basilica you will see the German Shrine which was designed and made by Erwin Wiegerling.Blessed Seelos is in the news at the moment as a second miracle needed for his canonisation is being investigated by the Baltimore Archdiocese.All info can be found on the website mentioned as well as exclusive photos only available on that site
