February 18, 2015 (LifeSiteNews.com) -- On his official blog, Washington, D.C., Cardinal Donald Wuerl made a rather obvious reference to Cardinal Raymond Burke, calling him a “dissenter.” Referring to “an interview and an article by brother bishops who are less than enthusiastic about Pope Francis,” Cardinal Wuerl was unmistakably pointing to Cardinal Burke, whose interview with France2 days earlierwas making the rounds on the Internet.
While newsworthy, the interview with Cardinal Burke was rather mundane in that he merely said he would be willing to “resist” Pope Francis, if the pontiff were to attempt to change the Church's practice of denying Communion to those in “second marriages.” Pope Francis has never said he would change the current Church practice, even though powerful cardinals surrounding him have suggested the move.

What ever happened to sin, mistakes, errors, etc., requiring the response, "If I had it to do over, I wouldn't do it"? I guess that's too, "black and white" for the Church these days?...while we march on to the hell of sin's consequences. The whole mess of Communion to active homosexuals or active homosexual Buddhists or divorced and remarried, etc., I wish were "nothing more" than a badly misguided …More

I guess that's too, "black and white" for the Church these days?...while we march on to the hell of sin's consequences. The whole mess of Communion to active homosexuals or active homosexual Buddhists or divorced and remarried, etc., I wish were "nothing more" than a badly misguided attempt to figure out how to get people back in the pews. This article refers to Cardinal Wuerl's placing Fr. Marcel Guarnizo "on administrative leave" after he denied Communion to Barbara Johnson. Fr. Guarnizo was in a local parish in Maryland, USA and the pews have not been as full before or since his time there. IF people in the pews were their goal, they might consider a Lenten slice of humble pie and sincerely sit down with the likes of Cardinal Burke or Fr. Marcel Guarnizo. That's the way I see it.

Please - don't listen to Cardinal Wurel he is a classic modernist. He has always been like this and will never change. Don't act on what he says or on what he does just ignore him. Men like him and his followers will be lost in the pages of Catholic history. They water the tree of Vatican II that is bearing no fruit. Just look around and you'll see clearly that he and the men like him are religiously …More

Cardinal Wurel is as off his rocker as ever... I mean who knew that it is a bad idea to give communion to Catholic Politicians who dissent from church teachings? Or that people who fully disclose and state that they are heretics but still want to receive communion shouldn't ? I don't know maybe Cardinal Burke was just trying to point out these things to Cardinal Wurel and he just didn't want to listen. And now he has the power granted to him and he wants to call the shots when he wouldn't listen to the person who was in power over him? OBEDIENCE is the number one thing that this situation has nothing to do with...

It is obvious that a Catholic looks like a dissenter from the point of view of a dissenter...

--St. Francis of Assisi....
Those who preserve their fervour and adhere to virtue with love and zeal for the truth, will suffer injuries and, persecutions as rebels and schismatics; for their persecutors, urged on by the evil spirits, will say they are rendering a great service to God by destroying such pestilent men from the face of the earth. but the Lord will be the refuge of the afflicted, and will save all who trust in Him. And in order to be like their Head, [Christ] these, the elect, will act with confidence, and by their death will purchase for themselves eternal life; choosing to obey God rather than man, they will fear nothing, and they will prefer to perish rather than consent to falsehood and perfidy.
"7. Some preachers will keep silence about the truth, and others will trample it under foot and deny it. Sanctity of life will be held in derision even by those who outwardly profess it, for in those days Jesus Christ will send them not a true Pastor, but a destroyer."
