The Three Franciscan Branches Talk About Merging

The three General Ministers of the Franciscans, Capuchins and Conventuals discussed in a May meeting about merging their orders. They want to “test” new forms of community and collaborate at different projects. The web-page ofm.org says that unity is “within arm’s reach”. In Germany the heads of the three orders met on June 12th to 14th to discuss a unification and came to the conclusion that Pope Francis could “speed it up”.
