I have also been watching EWTN for sometime. The daily Mass, the Rosary, Stations of the Cross, The Chaplet of Divine Mercy, the Chaplet of St. Michael and your movies of the Saints have all been a part of my prayer time. Your Pro-life coverage and Lauren Ashburn with her colleagues have been an inspiration to me to support the pro-life movement. With all this being said, I am troubled by the lack of information in regards to the abuse issues that continue to be "left out" of your coverage. I live in Pittsburgh Pa. born and raised here, am a "cradle" Catholic. I have also lived in Florida and North Carolina, and have children who live in Washington State, Alabama, Florida, and here in Pittsburgh. The Pope's many trips throughout the world over the past years have unsettled me due to the fact that he has not visited, to the best of my knowledge, the countries that have also been challenged by the priests abuse of children and others. Pope Francis has not been to Pittsburgh or any other state that has had issues with this scandal. The Catholic Churches here in Pittsburgh are suffering not only because of this scandal but by the lack of priests, falling membership, donations are down, as you are well aware of, and some of the churches are on the brink of closing as has happened to many of our Catholic Schools. Parishes are being combined due to faltering attendance to daily Masses, and participation in the Sacraments. The outlook is bleak, but I will not lose hope. Our Father in Heaven knows the total picture of this scandal and I believe that He along with our Lady, the Blessed Mother Mary, are doing there best to bring justice and healing to all who have suffered so greatly throughout this terrible time the Catholic Church and Her faithful have endured. Is anyone listening? Is the Pope listening? Is the Magisterium (sp) listening? Are our Bishops/Cardinals/Archbishops/ Priests listening? Do you believe this will just go away if we just ignore the scandal not speak about this scandal? Thank you for this opportunity to express my concerns. Prayers continue. Respectfully submitted, Marilyn Russell (mtfreckles39)
