I'm against abortion. At a young age of 12, I heard about abortion. People should practice safe sex. Not just to avoid pregnancy but STD's. Schools have classes on child parenting and counselors to help if you got pregnant. Adoption is the answer not abortion. I don't think girls are whores because they got pregnant. The clinics offer free condoms. I saw a video on 911 calls. People are placing newborns in dumpsters. If you're afraid of getting pregnant, you should go get fixed. The cost to get fixed is better than taking a life. Call the Crisis Line for help. There's options for people. I saw a post here about it being a persons body and are entitled to do what they want. I get it. But abortion? That fetus can't beg for life. So im here to speak for the many lives of children denied life.

a lot of people say "If you don't want a baby then be smart. Don't get pregnant" but it takes a lot for a woman to get to this point. now yeah there are women in this world who are constantly having unprotected sex getting pregnant and always getting an abortion, but there are other women in this world who are in situations where they cannot take care of baby. I am speaking from personal experience. I have family members that have been through this. Abortion is never that easy for women to just do.

The babies in this video are late second and third trimester abortions and are not right in my opinion. First trimester abortions are not like this.

I have no issue with FIRST trimester abortions. The fetus is tiny and miscarries like a period. The fetus feels nothing and is so small and undeveloped that you likely won't even see it come out. Abortion beyond the first trimester is cruel and is not okay with me. There are exceptions to every rule, though. I'll get to that later.

I believe that abortion should not be used as a form of birth control. I believe that women and couples should practice effective pregnancy prevention at all times if they do not want to become pregnant. However, accidents happen and there is no form of pregnancy prevention that is 100% effective.

I understand there are some cases where some women are not responsible in pregnancy prevention and may get several abortions in their lifetime. Do I think that's ok? No. But should someone's irresponsibility and irrationality make it illegal for everyone? Also no.

I hate it when people say if you don't want kids, take birth control. Birth control does not come without risks. Some side effects include, but are not limited to, a higher risk for ectopic pregnancy, blood clots, pulmonary embolism, deep vein thrombosis, heart attack, stroke, nausea, breast pain, weight gain, depression, endometriosis, headache, mood changes, etc. The list goes on. Women shouldn't have to take it if they don't want to put their health at risk.

But birth control isn't the only way to prevent pregnancy and couples should practice pregnancy prevention if they do not want to have a baby. But they should have the option to get an abortion should those preventative methods fail.

The argument can be made that if you took precautions and still became pregnant, you could carry on with the pregnancy and give the baby up for adoption. Not everyone has the type of mental and emotional strength it takes to grow a baby in their body for 9 months, bond with it, feel it kick, and then give it away. A lot of birth mothers suffer PTSD after placing a baby for adoption. Not to mention there are far too many children in foster care and group homes waiting to be adopted. I like to believe there is more good in the world than evil, but whose to say the couple adopting that baby has good intentions.

What if the precautions failed and having that baby would be unaffordable? What if there wasn't enough money to put food on the table?

What if precautions failed and having that baby meant that family had to get on welfare and your tax dollars were paying for it?

What if precautions failed and the mother was emotionally or mentally unstable or going through a crisis and couldn't handle having a child?

There are so many what ifs that are nobody else's business.

Back to abortion past the first trimester. It is heartbreaking and wrong. However, there are special circumstances in which abortion past the first trimester should be an option. Only under very dire circumstances should it be an option. For instance, if a mother found out she had a possibly fatal condition that required immediate treatment and if she waited, the disease could progress and she could die. If pregnancy could prevent her from getting the treatment she needed, she should be given the option to abort the pregnancy to save her own life. Another reason for justifiable abortion past the first trimester is that the fetus was found incompatible with life due to serious untreatable birth defect (for an example you can look up anacephaly and other neural tube defects). In these cases, they usually just induce labor and the mother gives birth to the baby who dies naturally of his ailments. Only in circumstances like these do I believe abortion past the first trimester should be an option.

I do think first trimester abortion should be an option for someone who doesn't want to have a child. Especially if they were responsible and took precautions not to get pregnant that failed. If someone were to consider first trimester abortion, all options should be weighed first. It should be carefully considered and thought out. It isn't something to be taken lightly or done often. If someone finds themselves in a situation where they need an abortion, they should reevaluate the effectiveness of their pregnancy prevention methods and make changes to prevent the same thing from happening again. You never know what someone is going through or their reasons for wanting a first trimester abortion. Not everyone can handle placing a child up for adoption and no one should be forced to carry and raise a child. And it wouldn't be fair for a child to be raised in an environment where he was unwanted

Ok I'm not looking for hate but I agree with both. On one hand if carrying out the pregnancy will damage your health to the point it could kill you or if you were raped you shouldn't have to keep it. While if it was your choice as a young person or just any age with no health affects then carry it and if you don't want it many people are looking to adopt. There's more valid reasons to keep or not keep these are just a few I thought of.
