U.S. Attorney Probing Flynn Case Will Call for New Records to be Unsealed.

Former National Security Adviser Mike Flynn may soon be a free man, and the American public is going to understand why in fairly short order.
CBS News senior investigative correspondent Catherine Herridge says a Justice Department official has confirmed U.S. Attorney Jeffrey Jensen—who has been assigned to review the handling of the case—is going to join Flynn’s own attorney to demand all newly revealed documents are unsealed. On her official Twitter account, she writes the first batch of documents is small, but includes handwritten notes.
She also tweets that the review of documents is turning up even more potentially damning evidence against former Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigative team.
This follows a request from Senate President Pro Tempore Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), formerly the Judiciary Committee chair when the Flynn investigation was underway. He sent a letter to the attorney general asking the Justice Department unseal “exculpatory evidence” that had been hidden from the court.
Grassley wrote to Barr:
“Simply stated, after years of rampant speculation and publicly reported inconsistencies regarding how the FBI handled the case, it’s time for the public to know the full set of facts relating to Lt. Gen. Flynn, including any and all government misconduct.”

Additionally, Grassley’s office issued the following statement regarding the request:

“In December 2018, Flynn pleaded guilty to lying to investigators during a January 2017 interview regarding his contacts with Russians, however Flynn has since claimed that he was pressured into pleading guilty and was poorly represented by his former legal team. The new material, which Flynn’s attorneys have characterized as “exculpatory,” was relayed by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Missouri, which was recently tasked with reviewing DOJ’s and FBI’s handling of the case. It’s currently shielded from disclosure by a protective order.
