Synodality in Action: Strickland Explains the Catholic Faith

On September 19, Tyler Bishop Joseph Strickland, Texas, published his fourth pastoral letter since August 22 clarifying synod themes such as divorce, contraception and homosexuality (“deception”).

He recalls the truism that marriage is between a man and a woman while a certain type of propaganda “promotes various distortions of intimate human relationships.”

The Church's teaching against contraception "cannot and will not change" because contraception is contrary to God's plan for human life.

Before 1930, virtually every Christian denomination opposed contraception as sinful. Then the Anglicans broke away by "allowing" contraception "for serious reasons", using the case-by-case trick (Casuism).

As the Synod approaches, Strickland calls for the rejection of any call to change the unchangeable reality of marriage, and relationships that attempt to simulate or redefine the sacrament of marriage.
