The Anti-Christian Conjuration (17)
THE TEMPLE IV. - THE GREAT ARCHITECTCHAPTER XLIX
SATAN: HIS RE-ENTRY INTO THE CHRISTIAN WORLD
Above the masons and above the masters of the work, is there a supreme organizer of religious and social demolitions and an architect of the building to which they must make way, the artist-engineer of the Temple which must rise on the ruins of the Church? Mr. Count d'Anthémarre established in the Revue catholique des Institutions et du Droit that "the Supreme Being in the presence and under whose auspices the Revolution proclaimed the "Rights of Man" and wanted to establish "the cult of nature" was not, in the thoughts of the main authors of the Declaration and the new religion, the God worshiped by heaven and earth, but Satan (1) designated by this name
1. "The genius of evil , says Mr. Joseph Lemann, bears different names in Scripture. The main one is Satan. Satan in Hebrew means adversary, the adversary! The devil, which is also his name, means slanderer, lying accuser. He is also called the Demon, which means evil genius, tempter. He is the Demon, the Devil, in relation to men, tempting them, slandering them, accusing them falsely. But he is Satan in relation to God; the adversary against God! His dream is to be a usurper. He was the hidden usurper at the time of the declaration of human rights. He is now the usurper confessed by the official apostasy.”
Slanderer, lying accuser. Yes; and by this the devil shows himself to be the father and doctor of Freemasonry and its suggestions. Evil tempting genius. Yes, again, and each of us knows it only too well. Adversary of God, against God. No. Satan is too high an intelligence to want to measure himself against the Infinite. But adversary of Jesus Christ, the God-Man, the principle of the supernatural order into which the pride of Lucifer and his followers did not allow them to enter and which now excludes Christians, disciples and members of Christ to their dominion. Which we will see later.
of Supreme Being or “Great Architect” in the language full of lies and calculated obscurities that the lodges have made to hide their thoughts from the profane and the goal the sect pursues. It is to this god that the true initiates want to raise the symbolic Temple where they hope to be able to unite all humans under the same sceptre and in the same cult. For this cult, they have already set their sights on our sanctuaries, as the theophists did after the inauguration which was made by Robespierre. “If the old architectures erected by the faith of centuries remain standing,” said one of the leaders of the sect, “the triangle will house there the solemnity of its rituals; the priests of Notre-Dame will cede their priesthoods to the pastors of the Grand Orient.” And the F. *. Blatin at the second session of the convent of 1883: “These edifices raised on all sides, for centuries to religious superstitions and sacerdotal supremacies, we will perhaps be called in our turn to preach our doctrines; and instead of the clerical chants, which still resonate, it will be the mallets, the batteries and the acclamations of our order which will make the broad vaults and vast pillars resound” (1). The following year, February 24, 1884, F.: . Masson, delegate of lia, lodge Friends of independence reproduced the wish of F.*. Blatin, invoking his authority.
These words are something other than vain boasting. We are already witnessing the first efforts of the sect to achieve its goal. Our churches no longer belong to us. Our presence there is no longer tolerated. When the good pleasure of the sect ceases, we will have to evacuate them. While waiting for the day when she deems it appropriate to take possession, she prepares minds to welcome this transformation, by gradually making the name of God disappear and glorifying Satan. The first part of the program is visible: all the laws, and particularly the school law, are designed to achieve it. The implementation of the second article must be more discreet. We are tending towards it. We know the awful homage addressed to Satan by Proudhon and the no less odious uttered by Renan. Michelet prophesied his triumph and Quinet wanted to “stifle the
1. In the discussion of the bill on the separation of Church and State, Mr. Groussau reported these words. M. Limousin, director of Acacia, in a letter to Figaro, appeared to question the accuracy of this quote. Mr. Groussau immediately wrote to Le Figaro: “I have the text before my eyes in the “Bulletin du Grand-Orient de France”, pp. 526, 631, 645.
Christianity in the mud", so that the religion of Satan could take its place. His cult begins to take shape. The name temple given by Freemasons to their meeting places, the altar located there, the ornaments worn by the dignitaries, the ceremonies they perform, all this indicates a cult, a cult which is addressed to anyone other than God, his angels and his saints (1). The satanic religion has its hymns, even outside Masonic temples: the infamous song which puts on the lips of the Christian people the wish to see Christ relegated to the stable and the Virgin to the road. She has her sacraments. There is the Masonic baptism which makes the “new kids”; there is the so-called “civil” Masonic burial, and there is the Masonic marriage (2). “La Chaîne d'Union, newspaper of the French
1. In 1893, the Borghese Palace in Rome was rented to the Grand Orient of Italy. Two years later, - by virtue of a clause included in the lease, Freemasonry received the intimation to evict the parties from the palace it occupied. The Corriere Nationale then published the following. The Borghese family's charge d'affaires having presented himself to visit these apartments and put them in a condition to be occupied by D. Scipio Borghese and the Duchess of Ferrari, one room remained closed and could only be opened upon threat of 'invoke the public force to break down the door. It found itself transformed into a “satanic temple”. The newspaper gave this description: “The walls were hung with red and black damask; on the background there was a large tapestry on which the figure of Lucifer stood out. Very close by was a kind of altar or pyre; here and there triangles and other Masonic insignia. All around were magnificent golden seats, each with a sort of transparent eye above the back, illuminated by electric light. In the middle of this temple, there was something resembling a throne.”
2. At the convent of 1890, at the fourth session, that of September 11, the question of funeral rites which had been neglected for a number of years came up. It seemed at first to the members of the Convent that masonry must strive to achieve its goal as quickly as possible through political agitation and that the money at its disposal has a better value. use in this direction than in symbolic manifestations. But this point of view did not satisfy the small number of high initiates. They instinctively felt a danger in the abandonment of the rites, and they opposed it. As Mr. Georges Bois observes, if masonry is in the final analysis, beneath its last secret, a manifestation of Satanism, it cannot, under pain of no longer being itself, do without a cult , nor avoid insulting by counterfeiting the worship rendered to God The Masonic ceremonies of baptism, marriage, and funeral rites effortlessly imitate the ceremonies of Catholic worship, awaiting the day when triumphant Masonry could take possession of the churches and Catholic cathedrals.”
"universal masonry", in its issue of January-February 1881, initiated us into the rites of this sacrament of families dedicated to Satan. This religion also has its doctors. La Tribune pedagogique, a newspaper created by teachers for teachers, spoke to them about Satan in these terms: “For the Catholic Church, Satan is the enemy. As such, he is sympathetic to many people. Satan is not only the negation of all religious faith, but also the dissemination of all science. In the brain of thinkers, it is the spirit of examination, criticism and philosophical research, representing science and philosophy united against obscurantism. But Satan, as a protest against ecclesiastical doctrine, still represents nature. He puts in the heart of the young man what is best and sweetest in the world: loving desires. He kindles in us all the generous passions: if we are worth anything, we owe it to him".
Let us not forget, it is an educational journal who dictates these lessons to teachers so that they repeat them to children. The Italian masons, bolder than the masons of France are, today at least, founded a newspaper in Ancona called II Lucifero, in Livorno, another newspaper called l’Ateo. “Satan is our leader,” said the editors of these newspapers in their profession of faith. They even dared, on Carnival Tuesday in 1882, to bring Satan to the theater in Alfieri, and in Turin, to sing him hymns, offer him "their incense and their wishes", and announce to the people his arrival "on a chariot of fire” and his coming reign over all the earth. Giosue Carducci's hymn expresses the wish that henceforth the incense and the homages of the hymns are addressed to Satan, "the insurgent against God" (1).
1. Among the disturbing things of these times, here is one that should be noted with particular attention: A subscriber to Avvenire d'Italia having made the proposal to make, on the first day of the year 1905, a pious pilgrimage to the house of this poet of Satan, vice-grandmaster of Italian Freemasonry, the Christian Democratic paper of Bologna hastened to express its full approval. “The illustrious poet,” he said, “is aware that our admiration for him is all the more sincere because we fought him when we believed it was our duty. Our tribute, at this moment, and our initiative, will only make it clearer the legitimate pride that we take in carrying in all matters this serenity and this objectivity which ennobles the mission of journalism.” Giosue Carducci has long enjoyed the favor of Christian Democrats: his works were among the books on sale in Rome in the offices of the Society of Culture of Abbot Romolo Murri, while he was still considered by the Christian Democrats as their leader. Here is even more surprising. In 1909, Italians celebrated the centenary of Carducci's birth. On this occasion, the University of France glorified him in the Sorbonne. But what matters most is that one of the most qualified among our Catholic newspapers devoted its Premier-Paris of June 22, 1909 to the praise of the cantor of Satan. “This poet is not only the greatest name in recent Italian literature, he is comparable to the most illustrious of the past." Or here is a very remarkable example of the “carefully covered influences” who manage to slip what they want into the most Catholic circles.
On June 22, at the inauguration of the Mazzini monument in Genoa, a black banner was carried in the procession, the pole of which was surmounted by a statue of Lucifer. After this demonstration, the anticlerical circle of Genoa sent a letter to the Unita Cattolica of Turin announcing that it was intended to place, when the time was ripe, the banner of Satan on all the churches of Italy, notably on the Vatican. Again, on September 20, 1883, in two suburbs of this same city of Genoa, in Caprona and San Fruttuoso, black banners, on which the image of Satan triumphant had been depicted, were carried with great pomp. The newspaper Epoca said the next day: “Croak as much as you like, oh black dying crows! now your curses, your sermons, your legends are nothing more than an echo of deserted caverns. It won't be long before Satan triumphs all the way. » In the consistory of June 30, 1889, Leo XIII was obliged to protest against the public exhibition of the flag of Satan in the holy city (1). It was
1. When Leo XIII had spoken, the “Rivista della Massoneira Italiana”, volume XVI, pp. 356-357), says: “Vexilla régis prodeunt Inferni, said the Pope. Well! yes, yes, the flags of the King of Hell are advancing... " The same "Rivista délla Massonneira Italiana", had previously said: 265, col. 1, lines 37 et seq., col. 2, lines 1 to 25: ... "The genius of the Future, our God, carries within us the germ of the new Law of Good... Its soul denies that social well-being finds himself fleeing human animality (sic) because social well-being is really the consequence of human animality (sic). The social edifice collapses without a (triangular) cornerstone. It is Our God who will place it. And this cornerstone will be on earth and not in Heaven. Salute the renovating genius, all of you who suffer, raise your brows high, my FF.*. for he, Satan the Great, is coming.”
at the inauguration of the statue of Giordano Bruno, an apostate monk and a moral loser. The cult of Satan seeks to penetrate everywhere. In October 1905, a wealthy German from the United States, Mr. Herman Menz, erected a statue of Satan on a mound which stands in the middle of his country estate, a short distance from New York. The statue is five meters high, not including the pedestal It represents Lucifer “crouching like a faun on a rock and ready to leap onto the world; his forehead is decorated with the two traditional horns and one of the hands clings to the handle of the fork.” Mr. Herman Menz distributes free brochures where he proclaims his faith in one devil. In January 1906, a New York club, the Thirteen, solemnly registered the devil among its members for life.
In our country too, Satan is publicly glorified The ex-abbot Charbonnel, devoted to spiritualism, while he still wore the cassock, came to Lille to give a conference, chaired by Brother Debierre, and there, in the chapel of the Redemptorists, he uttered the worst blasphemies against God and glorified Satan. A Canadian, MJ Chicoyne, recounted in La Vérité de Québec, at the time of Louise Michel's death, what he had seen and heard in our country in 1880. The red maiden returned from exile. A large demonstration in her honor was organized on September 18. MJ Chicoyne went there, accompanied by two Parisian journalists and a Luxembourger. The room, chaired by Mr. Rochefort, could contain five thousand attendees. Blanqui's words: "No God no master" served as a theme for the most hideous tirades. One of the most striking oratorical successes of the meeting was won by a sort of fanatic who became an apologist for Lucifer. “If the legend of the rebel angels could be accepted,” he said, “their leader would have to be an object of veneration.” He was the first being who knew how to resist authority. He can be the patron of all those who fight for freedom and emancipation. “Long live Satan!” shouted someone in the crowd. “Long live Satan!” repeated five thousand voices with a warmth and enthusiasm bordering on delirium. “It was an unusual spectacle to see such a multitude overcome with such dizziness to acclaim the fallen angel.”
Before the populace uttered these cries, the world, the world of academies had heard its newspaper, the Journal des Débats (issue of April 25, 1855) demanding the rehabilitation of the demon. “Of all the formerly cursed beings, whom the tolerance of our century has rescued from their anathema, Satan is, without doubt, the one who has gained the most from the progress of enlightenment and universal civilization. The Middle Ages, which understood nothing about tolerance, did so at pleasure, nasty, ugly, tortured... A century as fertile as ours in rehabilitations of all kinds could not lack reasons to excuse an unfortunate revolutionary whom the need of action threw into hazardous undertakings... If we have become indulgent towards Satan, it is because Satan has stripped away part of his wickedness and is no longer this genius disastrous, object of so much hatred and terror. Evil is obviously less strong these days than it was in the past. Allowed the Middle Ages, which lived continually in the presence of strong, armed, embattled evil, to bear it this implacable hatred... We who respect the divine spark in everything where it shines, we hesitate to pronounce exclusive judgments, for fear of enveloping in our condemnation some atom of beauty.”
What we will say later on the religion of Satan, the one to which modern civilization would like to bring Christians, that is to say, the worship of nature, will make clear the reasons for this plea from the newspaper of worldly people and intellectuals in favor of Lucifer. This inclination for Satan comes from the Jews. Since before Our Lord Jesus Christ, but especially since the dispersion, certain Jews have practiced the doctrines and rites of black or magical Kabbalah, which is nothing other than the quintessence of idolatry, religion and direct worship of fallen spirits, from demons, teaching the means of establishing immediate relationships with them. “It is certain,” said Br. Eliphaz Lévy, that the Jews, the most faithful depositories of the secrets of Kabbalah, were almost always, in magic, the greatest masters of the Middle Ages.” It is not without reason that twice, in the Apocalypse, the Pharisees and their descendants were called by the divine Savior "the synagogue of Satan", that is to say the Church of the devil. It is therefore from the Jews that the Freemasons received the cult which in their thinking must one day replace the cult of Christ.
“Their real leaders,” says M. Gougenot des Mousseaux, “live in a close and intimate alliance with the militant members of Judaism, princes and initiators of Upper Kabbalah.” “These are the Jews,” also says the professor of magic Eliphaz Lévy, “who after having received the deposit from the Chaldean Sabaists, coming from Cham, and who, according to an opinion very accredited in science (magick) were the heirs of the doctrine of the sons of Cain, taught us this science.” “Jewish Kabbalah,” says Mgr Meurin, in his book Freemasonry, Synagogue of Satan (1) – and his entire work is to prove this assertion – Jewish Kabbalah is the philosophical basis and the key to Freemasonry.” The apostate priest, Eliphaz Lévy, whom we have just cited, adds to the words reproduced that “the religious rites of all the enlightened, Jacob Boehme, Swedenborg, Saint-Martin, are borrowed from Kabbalah, and that all Masonic associations to him owe their secrets and their symbols.”
L’Osservatore Romano does not think otherwise. On October 1, 1893, it published an article on Freemasonry where he said: “Freemasonry is satanic in everything: in its origin, in its organization, in its action, in its goal, in its means, in its code and its government, because it has become one and the same with Judaism. And even it is the greatest force and the main army of Judaism, seeking to banish

from the earth the reign of Jesus Christ to replace it with the reign of Satan” (1). In 1888, Mr. Bossane, former postmaster in Saint-Félicien, in Ardèché, resigned as a member of the Lodge of Friends of Men in Annonay. With rare courage, he insisted that his resignation be public; and to make it known, he wrote a letter to the Courtier de Tournon, where he said: “Tired of having attended meetings held in Annonay, Lyon, Valence, Vienne, Geneva and Lausanne, without having learned anything, and not wanting to not enter the highest ranks so as not to have to keep oaths, I was able to establish relationships with high dignitaries of different nationalities. What I learned and what I was left to guess is appalling... MASONIC CULT IS THE CULT OF SATAN” (2).
In certain back rooms, Satan receives a worship that is different from the worship that Catholics give to God (3). Ragon, one of the Masonic writers who
1. Until due time, the Jews are and will be the nation and instrument of choice of Satan. Since their deicide, they have been his property, in much the same way as humanity has been since the sin of Adam until the Redemption. The crime of the Jews was like a second original sin on this race. Sanguis ejus super nos et super filios nostros!
2. He adds: “Moreover, Freemasonry continues the annihilation of France. » Those who wish to learn about the cult that Masonry pays to the devil can read the last hundred pages of the second volume of La Cité antichrétienne au 19th century, by Dom Benoît. V. Palmé.
3. There is a section of the Kadosch knights who worship Eblis. Eblis is the name of the demon in the East. This name is particularly attributed to the serpent which seduced Eve. Their work is to make the heresy of the Nazarene disappear and to make Eblis reign over all humankind. They thereby reveal themselves to be Kabbalist Jews, or disciples of the Kabbalist Jews. The sign of the Kadosch knights consists of pointing to the sky and lowering it towards the earth to show that what is above must be thrown down. The vulgar of the Order understand by this that the social order, based on authority and on God, will be thrown to the ground to be replaced by that of pare matter. The Kabbalists mean that the Nazarene will be plunged into the underworld and that Eblis will reign in the heavens. In the meantime they exercise their hatred on hosts which are delivered to them for the thirty denarii and brought from morning masses between the leaves of a book or in a handkerchief.
displayed the most intelligence and zeal, published, in 1844, in Paris, under the pseudonym Jean-Marie de V., a book entitled: The Mass and its mysteries compared to the ancient mysteries, or Complement of initiatory science. By a reversal of the truth, all parts of the Mass are presented as Christian adaptations of ancient ceremonies repeated in the back rooms; all Christian festivals are compared to the festivals of paganism; the litanies of the Holy Name of Jesus, the litanies of the Holy Virgin are compared to the invocations which accompanied the pagan processions. Father Ribet, in his Divine Mysticism, also says: “There are hardly, between the Sabbath of the Freemasons and that of the sorcerers, other than accidental differences, the basis is the same, namely: the worship of Satan , the profanation of holy things, the excesses of impudence.” Mr. Serge Basset, editor of Le Figaro, had expressed doubts about the diabolical practice of black masses in the back rooms. The next day he received a letter signed Bl. Ocagn, inviting him to be at the Place Saint-Sulpice the following Thursday, at nine o'clock in the evening, with an issue of Le Matin in his hand. He went there, a woman came to take him to the other side of the Seine. Or? He couldn't say it. On May 27, 1899, he gave an account of the scene he had witnessed in Le Matin. On an altar there was a living goat before whom the assembled men and women sang "Gloria in profundis Satani!..." An officiant put on a priestly costume and began a parody of the mass. He interrupted himself as the priest does, to deliver a speech, and he said: “We are here to restore the kingship of Satan, the Great, the Beautiful, the Suave. By insulting Christ, we will abolish his glory and we will restore the proscribed person to his supreme dignity. One day, the Prince of this world, Satan, our master, will triumph over Christ and be worshiped as the true God.” After the speech came the sacrifice, where the obscene competed with the horrible, and a filthy obscenity followed the sacrilege and was consumed in blood (1).
1. Bishop Méric received, on the occasion of this story, a letter asking him what to believe about it. In response, he reproduced it in his Révue du Monde invisible, and he added: “Our excellent friend Mr. Lidos has often affirmed to us the reality of these black masses; he showed us in the parish of Saint-Sulpice and elsewhere, the places where we could be sure of these sacrilegious parodies and these infamous practices which explain the too often observed theft of hosts. They also prove the substantial reality of Satan contested by light and proud spirits. However, we are only reproducing as a document and without commenting on the fundamental question, the article from the Charleroi newspaper (which Le Matin had reproduced)... We believe the worship of Satan in the black mass, in front of the cross turned upside down took place, we believe there were also the profanations of the Holy Species and the abominable scenes of satanic immorality spoken of in this story.” Revue du Monde invisible, July 1899. Mer Méric only gave the first part of the Matin report in this issue. He was reluctant to follow up on the next issue. He received letters from France, Belgium and the Danish West Indies asking him to continue. An inhabitant of Tours wrote to him: “I believe in these masses with Gôrres, Ribet and all the mystics and theologians. There is no point in talking about it, if only to bring about amends and reparations.” Another correspondent from Paris: “We carried out an investigation: the information from Le Matin's informant was taken from a good source. The facts recounted in this article are real. “ Revue du Monde invisible, February 1900.
Satan Always Wants to Obtain from Men the adoration that he sought from the beginning: “I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God, I will sit in the mountain of the covenant, in the sides of the north. I will ascend above the height of the clouds, I will be like the most High. (1)”. He obtained from paganism what he desired. But Jesus Christ came and threw out the prince of this world. Since then, he has continued to make an effort to return. To this end, he mainly used the Jews. Because, as Father Bonniot says very well, the demon enters the material world only at the good pleasure of the tenant or the Lord; the Lord: God; the tenant: the man to whom God gave it, terram dedit flliis hominum. Adam, through his sin, opened the door to him. Jesus Christ expelled him, egredietur foras. But it always remains open to man to recall it, either simply, in his soul through sin, or for external relationships through the use of certain observances. It is not God who then unleashes Satan, but our impiety and our infidelity. Demons have never had and will never have an entry into our world - we will demonstrate this later - except as much as man has wanted or will want to give them. As well as around the faithful, they prowl like roaring lions around the peoples, they could not keep under their yoke, to reconquer from them their ancient empire.
1. Is. XIV.
Their desire is to make the state of the human race worse than before the coming of Jesus Christ (Luke, XI, 26), At present, they are through our fault more numerous and more powerful than they were have never been since the sacrifice of Calvary. This is why Leo XIII and Pius X make us pronounce every day at the foot of the altar the exorcism which aims to repel into hell Satan and the evil spirits that Voltaire evoked by his satanic cry repeated so many times in the lodges.
There is another exorcism, more explicit, in satanam et angelos apostaticos, which was published by Leo XIII, ten years ago, and entrusted by him to the piety of the clergy. Perhaps there are too few who formulate it or they recite it too rarely.
1. This is not the first time that Satanism has invaded Christianity. In the 15th century, the Reformation, the first manifestation of the anti-Christian conspiracy, was preceded by an extraordinary development of magic. Protestantism, as it flourished, favored it everywhere and it brought the overflow of witchcraft which during the 17th century weighed like a nightmare on Germany, England and Scotland, while the countries of the Latin race were barely almost unharmed. In turn, the Revolution was preceded by a fever of Satanism. Magnetizers, necromancers, as they called it then, showed up everywhere. The corrupt nobles were initiated into the rites by which Satan was invoked, and in the villages as in the towns, they indulged in all the practices of the occult sciences. But never since paganism has Satan seen himself, as he is today, invited to re-enter the domain from which the Cross of the Divine Redeemer had expelled him.
CHAPTER L
SATAN. HIS CURRENT CONSTRUCTIONS
I. THE GNOSIS.
Satan driven from our world by the cross of the divine Redeemer is called there by our contemporaries and he enters. He returns there not only to tempt individual men, but to reestablish his empire over the human race, to reconstitute his kingdom. We have seen in the preceding chapters a multitude of associations, several of which came from all parts of the globe, occupied, under his inspiration, in destroying the Christian religion, by attacking its framework, that is to say, by seeking to eliminate all dogmatic truth, everything that constitutes revealed religion, the supernatural order. There are other associations, very recently established, which are beginning to raise the cult and religion of Satan. Just as in the times of paganism, there was a secret cult and an esoteric doctrine which belonged only to the initiates, delivering to the vulgar what they could carry and giving satisfaction to their religious instincts in naturalism; we see today practices and dogmas which constitute and will constitute for the initiates a properly Luciferian religion, while the public is and will be brought little by little to a simply natural religion. We will speak later of this natural religion; we have to deal here, in two chapters, with satanic religion; Gnosis and Spiritism. As Mr. Georges Bois (1), lawyer at the Paris Court of Appeal, says, “Freemasonry is only the most common and vulgar of the initiations practiced around us. There are various others that are more discreet, deeper, and more selectively recruited. If we travel through Paris or some large cities, opening our discerning eyes, we cannot fail to see here and there, too frequently, the almost cultish traces , if we can say so, of a demonism which is already no more secret (2).”
Mr. Huyssmans in the preface which he put to the book by Mr. Jules Bois, Satanism and magic, also says: “People that we meet in the street, who are similar to everything else. the world, in short, secretly engage in the operations of black magic, bind themselves, or at least try to bind themselves, with the spirits of darkness, in order, in a word, to do evil.”
After speaking of the thefts of Hosts, the stories of which he collected as they appeared in the Semaines religieuses, Mr. Huyssmans asks: “Are they isolated people or demonic associations who order these crimes or benefit from them? we are dealing with the Satanists
1. Do not confuse Mr. Georges Bois, former editor of La Vérité, who has just died as he lived, that is to say very Christianly, with Mr. Jules Bois of whom it will be here frequently asked question. 2. Revue du Monde invisible, January 1904.
or the Luciferians?” (1) He opines for the sect of the Luciferians or the Palladists; “which encompasses,” he said, “the old and the new world, which has an antipope with his curia and which pursues this goal of destroying Catholicism everywhere and preparing the reign of the antichrist.”
It should be noted that the principals in the different sects which we will speak about below are generally Freemasons and all the higher in rank in Masonry as they are more initiated into the mysteries of their respective sect. Since the masonry of the Grand Orient of France has been discovered, since its organization and its actions have been known, especially since it has been openly engaged in the political and social struggle, it has formed behind it, and thus say in the second line, a more mysterious Freemasonry which restores honor to all the ancient rites of the Templars, the Albigensians, the Cathars, the Gnastics, etc. These rites are not empty of meaning and the worship that they constitute is not without purpose. It is the religion of the devil. It constitutes the most terrible danger for today's society. This sect is divided into several branches, Kabbalists, Theosophists, Martinists, Occultists, Luciferians proper. The one which has the greatest extent and embraces the greatest number of individuals is that of the spiritualists. Mr. Jules Bois affirms that the members of these various societies are more numerous than
1. Satanism is the worship of the devil. Luciferianism is the last push of Gnosis and Albigensianism. For it, the God of the Old and New Testaments is the evil god, hostile to progress, irritated against scientific progress. Lucifer is the good god, the pivot of universal evolution, the spur of passionate years. The revolutionaries are his saints.
Jews and Protestants united. “In every city,” he said, “in Belgium, France, Italy, Holland, England, (I am talking about the countries that in Europe I have particularly visited) there exist spiritualist groups. Outside and alongside a small elite is formed which is occultist, Martinist or theosophist.”
Occultism escapes precise definitions. We can say that it is a philosophy kept secret, generally expressed by symbols. Magic is the daughter of occultism. Mages and occultists use procedures that they claim to be scientific to put themselves in contact with “occult powers.” Young people are drawn into these associations! by the curiosity of experiences which, they think, will make them discover the “ignored forces of nature”. They are told that there is a “training” which allows men who have reached a certain degree of evolution to develop the current scale of reception of the senses and for them to indefinitely enlarge the world. When man's inner powers are thus developed, nature will reveal its hidden energies: humans will no longer be "mortals", they will have set foot on the path to divinity. Teosophy, occultism, Maritinism, etc., are various forms of the ancient gnosis of the first two or three centuries of Christianity, founded by the Jews to stifle the Christian doctrine in its cradle. It was reorganized in France in 1890 by Jules Doinel, who returned after his wanderings to Catholicism with unequivocal marks of a true conversion. Gnosticism today has a hierarchical organization, as we will see. He also has a renewed doctrine of the ancient Gnosis. He published two magazines. Gnose, monthly review of esoteric sciences. It is the organ of a gnostic group led by Dr Fabre des Essarts who calls himself successor of the late Doinel and calls himself Synesius, archbishop of Paris and bishop of Montségur. Le Réveil Gnostique, another magazine appearing every two months, is the organ of Dr. J.-B. Bricaud saying: “H.B. John II, sovereign Patriarch, The headquarters of this organ is in Lyon. Most of the initiators of this Gnostic movement are from Lyon.” The Gnostics founded several bookstores to spread their publications and all those related to them, that is to say, the reissue or translation of the works of ancient heretics. To be admitted into Gnosis, one must confess the two fundamental dogmas of the restored Gnosis: faith in emanation and salvation through science (Gnosis). The dogma of emanation is opposed to that of a creator God. Salvation by science is opposed to salvation by faith. One enters the Gnostic Church through the imposition of hands by the Gnostic bishop. Those who received it are called Pneumatics. There is a second degree, that of the diaconate; and a third, the episcopate. The bishop is elected by the assembly of the faithful and deacons. Her election is subject to the approval of the Most High Synod composed of all bishops and all Sophies (women raised in rank in Gnosis); and its president for life is the Gnostic patriarch, temporal head of the Gnostic Church of which celestial Sophia, read Lucifer, is the spiritual and invisible head. The elected bishop receives his powers of jurisdiction by a coronation. Each bishop governs his diocese made up of several groups to which a deacon and a deaconess are responsible. The Patriarch corresponds with the Masonic Powers who recognize him, they have a cult which it is useless to describe. Suffice it to say that Gnostic ritual is infused with Catholic liturgy. Catholic formulas mask the Jewish work. Lucifer hears himself attributing the sacred texts and the prayer that should only be said to God. Catholic ceremonies are adapted to Valentinian dogma (1) The episcopal ornaments used by Gnostic prelates offer more than one point of resemblance with those of legitimate prelates. Theosophy claims to be the very essence of past, present and Its central office is in London. It has gradually spread across the globe, to India, Australia, New Zealand, the United States, the West Indies, Sweden, Germany and Italy. , in Holland', in England and in France (2) The French section has its headquarters, 59, rue de La Bourdonnais; it includes 25 branches and a number of active centers; the Theosophical Society (3) In May 1907, Mr. Chacornac organized an occultist congress in the amphitheater of the Grand-Hôtel des société savantes, in Paris. This congress expressed the wish: 1° that the public authorities officially favor the application of Psychotherapy for regeneration

He decided that it is up to all occultist fraternities and individualities to spread around them in the mass, the laws "of the universe and of supreme knowledge, so that these laws become the basis of the evolution of human society to guide the crowds towards a social ideal of Progress and Fraternity”. He resolved to increase the means of promoting the studies of the occult sciences, and this by all possible means. Three years before the reorganization of Gnosis,
1. On October 1, 15, 1903, the Lyon and Regional Federation of Spirits held the first of its conferences in Lyon, at the Salle des Folies-Bergère. Eight hundred people were there. An agenda was voted unanimously minus six votes, committing Mr. Combes to. continue the work of secularization to the end, and forming the WISH that spiritualism finally occupies its rightful place in the world. One of the most active and most listened to leaders of the Spiritist religion immediately endeavored to give this wish a first realization, by sending to Mr. Combes a memorandum concluding the introduction of Spiritism in public education and in particular, its study to be made compulsory in all high schools. In this memoir he says that neither the Church nor the University responds to the needs of souls to resolve the problem of human destiny and to provide orientation to the spirits.
Martinism had been restored by Dr. Papus, whose real name is Encausse, one of the most dangerous Luciferians of the century. Martinism was founded in 1754 by a Portuguese Jew, Martinez de Pasquelly, his first disciple was Louis Claude de Saint-Martin; that the sect has a double reason for being called “Martinism”. Martinism derives directly from Jewish Kabbalah. It played a large part in the horrors of the Revolution. Today, Martinism encompasses most of the occultist groups and without him gnosis could never have gone from theory to realization; Dr. Papus is the Grand Master for life, and he presides over a supreme council whose members are elected for life. him educated young people, several of whom have become masters in magical science. Then he carried out this colossal undertaking of founding esoteric groups which today are spread throughout the civilized universe and are a nursery of high Luciferians. Papus runs a journal called Hiram, and he founded an Institute of Advanced Hermetic Studies. The courses last three years and lead to diplomas. It never has less than one hundred and fifty students. Martinism also has three degrees. What makes the order powerful is that the initiator pretends to be known only to two people: the one who initiated him himself and the one he initiates. Thus the chain of silence so necessary for occult associations is established. Within the order itself, many F. - only manage to know a small number of them. The initiator has the duty not to lose sight of those he or she has initiated. Beyond these three degrees, the order includes another which constitutes a sort of martinist third order. Initiates to this third order abound in the Parisian world. He created entries for Martinism in salons, magazines, newspapers and prepared his dictatorship over the academic world. This third order is called “Rosicrucians”. Now there is a society called the Rosicrucian Brothers of the Rosace. Its organ is a monthly review founded on October 25, 1906, Les Entretiens Idealistes, which clearly asserts itself as Catholic and even claims to combat modernism (see the declaration placed at the top of the issue of January 25, 1910); and yet it is enough to read its main articles, notably those of its director, Mr. Paul Vuilîaud, to see that it teaches all the errors of the neo-gnostics and theosophists (1). Moreover, the journal does not hide its sympathy for the occult sciences; it announces the free sending to its readers of important catalogs of books on the occult sciences. Many Catholics are seduced above all by this affirmation that we have already found on the lips of Weishaupt: All religions, without excluding the Catholic religion, have an esoteric teaching. And it is this secret doctrine of Jesus Christ, today unknown to the official Church that it
1. The evidence abounds. From the third delivery, Mr. Vuillaud announces the first French translation of the Zohar, the esoteric book of the Hebrews. In this article, he does not hesitate to argue that “religious and philosophical systems are all found, for what they are true, in cabalistic theosophy”. He adds: “The notions provided by Kabbalistic Wisdom are identical to those that Christian theology teaches us” page 106. This assertion is repeated later in another form (p. 109) and the author adds that “Cabal was slandered.” It is especially in a series of articles entitled Mystagogiques, that Mr. Paul Vulliaud more openly exposes his system (See notebooks XXXIII, XXXIV, XXXV, XXXVI)
is a matter of communicating to initiate the true wisdom, to Gnosis, and to prepare the advent of true Catholicism, of the truly universal religion. Here is which is supremely worthy of attention. In the XL notebook, Mr. Pierre de Cresinoy made speeches by Marc Sangnier, which had just been published in volume, a eulogy full of outrageous flatteries, addressed to the author. This notebook must be compared to that of May 25, 1909 where the report of the Congress of the Sillon is found. The Democratic Awakening of June 13, 1909, responding to the compliments of Paul Vuillaud, tells us that the review Les Entretiens Idéalistes is the organ of a group of Brothers known as Rosicrucians of the Rosace (1). Vuillaud's review had never let this confession slip. So we knew at Sillon what the readers and subscribers of Entretiens idéalistes are unaware of, if they are not affiliated. Let us now compare a pamphlet by Maurice Boué de Villiers entitled The Secrets of the Rose-Cross and which is part of the library of Idealist Interviews, and compare this pamphlet with Marc Sangnier's book The Deep Life; it's the same state of mind, the same morbid idealism, the same macabre eroticism. If we compare the poems so frequently published in the Entretiens with the Sillon's theories on chastity and love, there is an identity of substance and form, and we will say that the Awakenings and Visions of the Deep life which had seemed only the work of a sick mind and an unregulated imagination, become the index of an initiation at least partial to abominable mysteries. It is through the idealistic character of democracy that the Sillonist and the Rosicrucians come together.
1 Compare this name to that of Rosicrucianism.
The Gnostics see in the aspiration, as ardent as it is vague, of the Sillonists towards “progress through democracy”, a current favorable to their ideas of ascension towards Science or Gnosis. The Sillonists are under the influence of theosophists and the Gnostics, when they dream of an ascent of democracy towards an ideal of virtue which will truly make it capable of governing itself. It is enough to read the January-February 1910 issue of the Reveil gnostique to realize to what extent these heretics expect and predict a new golden age. It is these crazy hopes sown among the people by the thousand organs of sects which explain how socialist leaders can promise obviously chimerical reforms with impunity. The crowd vaguely believes in a new, quasi-messianic order of things and sees in democratic progress the dawn of paradisiacal happiness rediscovered (!)
1. According to these heretics, the history of humanity includes nine epochs, through which inanimate matter rises under the action of “astral matter” to divinity. The first era is that of Brahmanism, the second that of the religion of the Egyptians, the third is the Christian era, the fourth the revolutionary era (we are there), the fifth will be that of the universal republic; epochs six, seven and eight will mark epochs in the history of humanity so superior to what we can conceive, that they cannot currently be defined; finally the ninth epoch will be that of divinized nature. This is the fantastic dream which lies at the bottom of all these declamations about Progress and the ascension of humanity. This is the mirage that the Sillon allows itself to be caught up in more or less unconsciously. When Marc Sangnier proclaims that democracy is the necessary outcome of Christianity, that it must raise humanity to a “Social Organization which tends to bring to the maximum everyone’s civic consciousness and responsibility " these words would only have a quixotic and declamatory meaning if they did not respond to a state of mind long created and maintained in his listeners as well as in himself. Now this state of mind is Kabbalistic and Theosophical Freemasonry which created it and it is to it and not to Christianity that it benefits. Democracy is not for them a form of government, it is a degree of the mysterious ladder by which humanity rises towards infinity. The universal Republic that this progress prepares will be as much superior to the Christianity of the Middle Ages as it was to Brahmanism and the pagan world. It will consist of the fusion of all Churches, the abolition of all homelands, the suppression of private property and the destruction of the family. This is the democratic ideal more or less clearly glimpsed, but greeted from afar with equal enthusiasm by the Gnostics and the Sillonists, or better said, by all modern democrats of all schools and all denominations.
At the time of writing, the Sillon announces that it has just been reorganized. It remains what it was, less an organization than a spirit. And we see what a spirit! What a powerful lever over Christian society Satan holds in his hands through all the societies that we have just mentioned. It remains for us to speak of spiritualists.
CHAPTER LI
SATAN. ITS CURRENT CONSTRUCTIONS
II. - SPIRITISM
Satan therefore has today an occult church with its faithful, its ceremonies, its liturgy, opposed to the Holy Church, to the faithful of Christ, to the Roman liturgy, to the religion of the Son of God made Man. This is an indisputable fact; Satan exercises a formidable empire over a mass of perdition. The majority of this mass is formed by spiritualists. They too belong to Gnosis through its main dogmas. Spiritism is not new: its practices fill all times, all places, but especially pagan times and places. Cicero (1) tells us that his friend Appius made consultations with the dead his usual practice, and that, in the vicinity of Arpinum, was Lake Avernus, from where the shadows of the dead still bloody. » There were Oracles of the dead everywhere. They were mentioned on the banks of the river Acheron in Thesprotia, at Phigalea in Arcadia

at Cape Tenara, at Heraclea in Pontus, at Cumae. It was not only the populace who added law to these practices. Periander, one of the seven wise men, sends to consult the soul of his wife whom he had had her throat slain (1). Pausanias himself evokes the soul of a young girl he killed (2); the magistrates of Sparta have necromancers from Thessaly evoke the soul of this same Pausanias (3); Libo Drusus is put to death by Tiberius for having committed a crime of lèse-majesté while he was engaged in necromancy; the grammarian Apion evokes the shadow of Homer to question him about his homeland and his parents (4). These same evocations were practiced in the Middle Ages by sorcerers and mages (5). These days they have taken on a frequency, increases, and an importance which authorize the most worrying predictions. Spiritism can therefore be defined as a system of extra-natural relationships between men and pure spirits. Spiritism possesses and uses the means to cross, at will, he says, the barrier which separates our human kingdom from that of pure spirits, and it is the more or less happy coordination of these means which constitutes any system of spiritism. Certainly, cases of deception or error are frequent, but the facts clearly characterized as extra-natural are so numerous that they cannot be counted and have been so perfectly observed that doubt regarding them is not possible.
1. Herodotus, V, 92. 2. Plutarch, Life of Cimon. 3. Plutarch, On the delays of divine justice. 4. Pliny the Elder, XXX, 6. 5. We do not have to point out that demons are not the masters of souls, and that, to respond to the evocations addressed to them, they do not have , than to appear in person under assumed names.
We seek to clothe them with a scientific appearance, or to reject them altogether in the domain of conjuring. Certainly there is fraud. But, says Dr. Grasset, it is false to conclude that all mediums defraud and that a medium convicted of fraud in certain cases necessarily defrauds in all cases. On the other hand, spiritual phenomena cannot be reproduced at will, which does not allow them to be classified in the field of science. The usual and rigorous procedures of scientific control cannot be applied to them. First, you need a medium (1) Moreover, when you have the medium, the experiment does not always succeed, there is a mystery in determinism which multiplies the failures “The phenomena are rebellious to discipline,” says Maxwel. “Under identical conditions,” says Charles Richet, “this uncertainty of results casts uncertainty on science itself.” This places between physical facts and spiritualist facts a completely infallible criterion of distinction. nature alone or by the intervention of man who commands it by obeying it, that is to say who obtains its manifestations by processes imitated from its own action. He studies steam, electricity and he uses them. implemented for its locomotion or for its messages, strictly observing their habits and channeling their natural course. This is physics. But if by simply touching a table, if even
1. Medium, being, man-middle. This is the name given to the person, man or woman, who, in spiritualism, is the intermediary between the earthly world and the world of spirits and serves in their manifestations. We call a materialization medium someone who obtains bodily manifestations by internally conceiving a desire.
I obtain the presence and the conversation of an intelligent and free and more invisible being who divines my desire and my thought, I see very clearly that I am dealing with a pure spirit (1). Mr. Jeanniard du Dot relates that in 1849, the five bishops of a province gathered to treat different
1. Mr. Jacques Brieu, the well-known occultist critic of the Mercure de France, distinguishes between phenomena of a purely psychic order and of spiritualist order. Its starting point is the fact, its goal is the fact, its criterion of certainty is the fact. The facts remain while the most ingenious theories, the most learned systems collapse. Are these facts 1° Certain? Yes, if they exist for everyone, learned and ignorant. 2° Heteronomic? Yes, if they are something other than a play of the imagination, a subjective idea, a dream, an opinion. 3° Observable? Yes, if they fall under our senses and can be grasped by our instruments. 5° Irreducible? Yes, if they are not reduced to simpler Others arising from an already existing science or are not inductions drawn from the facts. “The psychic sciences and spiritualism properly so called spring from the sciences with which they present the most points of contact, physiology and psychology? No, because physiology and psychology only have as their object of study the faculties of the mind and the functions of the body in a normal state; while the phenomena studied by spiritism and the psychic sciences are abnormal, requiring the presence of an abnormal being, a medium. "The production of spiritualist phenomena seems to require the intervention of normal intelligent forces or beings. It will often be difficult to discern whether a fact belongs to spiritualism or to psychological sciences, but is it not the same for a large number of facts? who will exactly determine, for example, the limit emanating from psychological facts and physiological facts? The distinction between psychic phenomena and physiological facts is possible and even legitimate, if there is a characteristic fact which allows them to be differentiated, if the intervention of forces or beings foreign to the physical world is an indestructible fact, the phenomenon is of a spiritualist nature, it comes from unknown intelligent forces or beings.”
points of doctrine or ecclesiastical law wanted to realize, for themselves, the phenomenon of rotating tables. When they saw the table turning, they placed a rosary and a breviary on it. The table overturned these objects with fury; then she pushed the local bishop to the door. Satan's intention seems to be to manifest himself more today than he has done in any period of Christianity; but his tactic is to hide behind science. A thousand scientists, mathematicians, physicists, chemists, etc., have entered the domain of the occult with the thought of subjecting it to their experiments and grasping its laws. This hope that Satan has given birth to fits well into his design which is, as we will see in the last part of this work, to bring man back into the purely natural order and to lock him there while dominating him. It was in America, in the year 1847, that, by the permission of God and by motives of infinite wisdom which it is not given to us to penetrate, the prince of darkness began again in our days this long series of manifestations , which were to extend to the entire world and of which the last word is far from being said. The Fox family, living in a house in Hyderville, a small village in New York State, received a visit in March from a spirit who made the house ring with mysterious knocks. Surprised at first and even terrified, the inhabitants of the haunted house soon gave way to curiosity and asked questions. The young girls' snapping fingers were answered by snapping fingers. A first means of communication was established with the striker who, through this, revealed himself to be an intelligent being.
1. The invisible world, 307.
The Fox family moves to Rochester; the spirit follows it and conquers in this city a larger field of operations, a greater number of witnesses who soon become apostles; because he follows home those to whom he has manifested himself the first time, and he thus multiplies the theaters of his manifestations. We do not have to say here the different forms that these manifestations take, nor the different means of communication and conversation that the spirits successively suggested to those who put themselves in communication with them; we only want to follow spiritualism in its extension. In 1853, that is to say six years after the beginnings, five hundred thousand people were in America in constant correspondence with "the souls of the dead", and in contact with each other through twelve magazines or newspapers. A few years ago, according to Mr. Babinet's calculation, there were, in America alone, sixty thousand mediums. In 1855, Emma Harding-Button estimated the number of followers in America alone at 12 million. A little later, Judge Edmunds, senator and president of the Court of the State of New York, accused three million new members. How many are there today? It was not an exaggeration to increase, by 1870, the number of spiritualists on the globe to around twenty million. “What made the extraordinary popularity of spiritualism,” observes Jules Bois (1), “is its nearby, popular thaumaturgy. Everything becomes simple. God for all in the dose of each: Democratic God!” Spiritists have international Congresses: They took place in Brussels in 1884, in Barcelona in 1886, September 1899. in Paris in 1889. In 1889, centenary of the Revolution, the Congress met in the Grand Orient: new proof of the secret relationships which exist between Freemasonry, Talmudic Jews and Satan. The Centennial Congress had five hundred members. At the Congress of 1900, were invited, by Abbot Julio, "all Catholics of both worlds, priests and lay people, who cannot remain foreign to the scientific renewal which leads humanity towards the glorious end shown to it by the divine Master (1).” “The Congress,” says Mr. Durville, “held its meetings at the Hôtel des Agriculteurs de France, in the midst of a considerable influx of magnetizers, spiritists, hermetics, theosophists and independent spiritualists, who came here in as delegates of societies or groups from all parts of the world, of which they were representatives... The Spiritists presented the broad outlines of their religion in this International Congress, of which they had taken the initiative and which they knew how to bring it to a successful end. » Mr. Denis, who had already chaired the Congress of 1889, was again responsible for chairing that of 1900.
Taking the chair, Mr. Denis said: “At the Congress of 1889, spiritualism still saw many obstacles before it, the walk was hesitant. Today, the number of followers has multiplied, the public and the press are curious. We have followers in the world of science and in the highest ranks of society... The occult powers are at work, they support the action of men... After the period of diffusion, must come the period of organization... The present time, the time at what we are, is an hour full of hopes and promises; the masses are agitated by the dull work of thought; intelligences and consciences are in search of a new ideal... Spiritism is a powerful germ which will develop and which will bring about a transformation of laws, ideas, social forces... Spiritism must contribute to transforming science... It will bring about a transformation of religions... It will be the same for education... It will have a powerful influence on the social economy and public life... Spiritism can no longer be stopped in its progress: he has penetrated the minds and hearts of millions of men.” (P, 32 and 42). These last words were not boastful. In the Problem of the Present Hour we have given numerous information on the number of spiritualists, their publicity organs, their propaganda, in France and in all the countries of the world. Our intention is not to return to it here, moreover the figures given then would no longer be accurate, they grow day by day, and we do not know of any work which keeps the progress of the sect up to date. We will limit ourselves to a few observations. The earth is therefore covered with spiritualists. They are found everywhere on all continents, they penetrate all environments and lend their assistance to all the works of satan. Gnosis was recruited from their ranks, among intelligent, literate spiritualists, belonging to liberal functions or to the great world (1).
1. Mr. Gaston Mery, founder of the Ecko of the Marvelous, published, on September 10, 1907, in the Libre Parole, an article in which he said that as in the time of Cagliostro, the aristocracy questions minds. She uses this in her rooms Ouija, a varnished wooden board on which the letters of the Alphabet are inscribed. A small device, in the shape of an inverted saucer, equipped with an indicator arrow is placed on this board. “I know of salons,” he said, “where spiritualism sessions are periodically given. Ladies read the devil's sermons to their guests, and even collected them into volumes. There are no less than three or four special bookstores in Paris, where people of the world and even others can stock up on this literature from beyond the grave, sold at all prices, with the obvious aim of propaganda.”
For the propagation of their doctrines, spiritualists rely especially on women. In the report that he read at the closing general session of the international congress of 1900, a session which brought together all the spiritist schools, Dr. Papus said: “It is to women that we owe the success of our congresses, and It is precisely that they say that he who has women on his side is sure of victory. It is they who, between sessions, prepare for success through their incessant apostolate. They are the ones who, tireless bees, go everywhere foraging for the honey of truth. Let us know not to be ungrateful, on this day of joy, and let us do justice to women for the success of the spiritualist idea across all social classes” These poor women are drawn into spiritualism by their heart, by the desire to enter into communication with the people they loved, their children, their husbands. Once seduced by the illusions that Satan gives them, they become his apostles. What the leaders of the spiritist movement propose is therefore to pass the religious direction of humanity, from the magisterium of the Church to the Spirits who have become our familiars and our guides; and these prepare the ways for the universal reign of their Master, Lucifer. With the curious, with the imprudent, with lovers of new things, they manage to bring together disciples from all religions and from countries of the world. They thus form a new Church to which they give a new cult, a new religion.
“Through spiritualism,” said Pastor Beversluis at the Congress of 1900, “Christianity will be consummated (will arrive at its perfection), but not the Christianity of churches, dogmas and rites... So no priests, no constraint of awareness! So no blind zealots; no worship of the authority of a book; no confessionalism; no dogmatic system; there is no infallibility of a man or a book. So no fear for a cruel God, no mediation of saints between God and man.” The pastor calls this a purified and simplified Christianity. The program of this new religion includes two parts: the work of destruction and the work of edification. 1° Destruction of the Catholic Church and annihilation of faith in Jesus Christ; — Social revolution through anarchy which will raise the proletarians against the upper classes; — Overthrow of idols, that is to say false gods (the three Persons of the Most Holy Trinity), of kings and of all aristocracy, nobility, clergy, owners. 2° Building a cult based on Truth and Reason, to which the name Christianity (christianscience) will be given. The spiritualist association, called Christian-Science, was founded in Boston in 1879 by Mistress Eddy, who, for this reason, is called the mother of Christian-Science (1). From America it spread everywhere. Thirty
1. In December 1907, the Reuter agency of Concord (New Hampshire NS .A) published a dispatch announcing that Miss Eddy had received the academy officer's certificate from the French government.
three years after its foundation, it numbered six hundred thousand scientists. They have a temple in Paris, rue Pasquier. Their metropolitan church for Europe is in London. They established churches or at least places for religious services everywhere. The New York World's Almanac for 1897 listed 123 churches and 131 service premises. The following year, the Christian-Science-Journal counted 250 churches and 127 service premises. Thus, in one year, 123 new churches were erected. In 1905 Christian Science numbered 908 churches or societies in the United States, Canada, Mexico, the Philippines, France, England, Norway, Switzerland, Italy, India, China and elsewhere. The mother church is in Boston and has 34,000 members. The mother of scientism believes that, “in less than fifty years, Christian science will be the dominant religious faith in the world.” The name Christian given to a sect which proposes , firstly, to destroy the religion of Our Lord Jesus Christ, seems quite astonishing; but the explanations make it understood that the Christ of Christian science is none other than “the universal spirit” or “the great magical agent”, in other words, Lucifer. Christian science is therefore properly the religion of Satan, to which all spiritualist evocations must lead. Dr. Gibar, in his book Les Choses de Vautre Monde, reports that, in a session at Mr. Nus, the table said: “The new religion will transform the vaults of the old Catholic world already shaken by the blows of Protestantism, of philosophy and science.”
This transformation is the substitution of the reign of Satan, for the reign of Our Lord Jesus Christ. This is where the immense work of religious dissolution whose multiple agents this book exposes ends. “The work that is being accomplished,” says another spiritualist, “is the prelude to a philosophical and moral renovation that will embrace the entire globe.”
Also, as Mgr Méric noted, the spirits evoked are making the greatest efforts to give spiritualists throughout the world this rallying word: Hatred of the Catholic Church, the eternal enemy that must be destroyed. Satan thereby impresses, on those who make themselves his, his character, the character of the Beast, as the apostle Saint John says. When we read the magazines and works of the leaders of the spiritualist movement, we are struck by the extreme violence of the feelings of anger and hatred that they manifest against Catholic dogma and against the Church, against the clergy and against the papacy. They seek to lead their followers into a violent campaign against Catholicism. They keep saying: Catholicism is finished! Catholicism is dead! They are no longer content with propagating the ideas instilled in them by demons, they want to destroy Catholicism and replace it with spiritualism in human consciousness and in society; in a word, found a new religion.
One of the most prominent mediums due to her social situation and the culture of her mind, Princess Marie Karadja, daughter of a Swedish senator, published two books: Spiritist Phenomena and Spiritualist Views, then The Gospel of hope. She says that spiritualism must replace the different spiritualisms and religion must replace the different religions. She expresses her thoughts thus: “Humanity is an immense building where each religion represents a window – large or small – through which the same sun penetrates. The men who are in this building divide themselves near the different windows and quarrel among themselves, claiming that one gives more light than the other, and each affirms that the true light can only enter at the window where it is finds it himself. It is the mission of spiritualism to tear down the entire wall that separates the different windows.” Tear down all the walls! How many times have we heard this word come out of all the associations that Satan uses to overthrow the Church of Jesus Christ in order to build his temple on its ruins. Two things must be done, said the spirit who revealed to Allan Kardec the mission he was giving him: demolish and build. How many demolition workers we saw at work during this study! Whether they get along or not, from the different points of the demolition site where everyone is placed, they obey the same master. A general, who signs A, published, a few years ago, in the Revue Scientifique et Morale du Spiritisme, a communication reproduced in the Revue du Monde Invisible (May 1902 issue). It was said that “the spirits evoked are the architects of the building of the future and that they leave it to the laborers to establish the rough foundations.”
These manoeuvres are all those we have seen at work during this study, Jews and Freemasons, and also, it must be said, these modernist Christians and Catholics who work to break down dogmatic barriers. All those who violate the Catholic faith, whether they like it or not, are part of the army of evil working, under the orders of Satan, to re-establish his empire overthrown by the Cross and found his Temple, his Church which he claims to make universal, effectively Catholic.
Will Satan triumph? Will he manage to have temples built in all parts of the universe and to be adored there by all men? Will the Jews soon see the temporal Messiah whom they have been calling for two to three thousand years, finally respond to their prayers and give them dominion over all humankind? Will the Freemasons succeed in raising the egalitarian level on all heads and on all consciences and will they be able to realize their dream of universal peace by the suppression of all dogmas which put boundaries in the world of souls and the denaturation of all nationalities which establishes others between temporal interests?
This is the question which arises at the point of our study which we have reached. There is certainly no problem of more poignant interest. We can add that there is nothing more disturbing for those who consider what is already done in the order of ideas and even in the order of facts. It becomes distressing when the mind rises to contemplate the progress of the world at the time we are in and the accelerated speed that events are taking. The answer cannot be given with certainty. It depends on the advice of divine wisdom and also on the steps of human freedom, things which are unknown to us, which we can hardly suspect. However, it is possible to speculate. But to do it consistently and with the hope of reaching a plausible solution, it is necessary to take things, we will not say from a little high, but from a very high level. Our study of the antagonism between Christian civilization and modern civilization led us to say that the devil plays a role. We have seen secret societies multiply, enlisting countless followers and all leading to relationships with him. We have seen the more occult societies dominate and direct Freemasonry, and Freemasonry govern states and provide impetus to the entire modernist movement. Satan is therefore the prime mover of modern civilization, as it is opposed to Christian civilization. Why and how did he take on this role? What is he proposing? It is the answer to this double question which will allow us to conjecture what the outcome of the current situation may be, a situation such as it rightly says: The world cannot remain in this state.
