The state of Massachusetts refused this Catholic couple’s application to adopt children over their Christian views, especially regarding their views on gender. Mike and Kitty Burke has decided to go for a legal battle against the state’s decision.

It’s good that they are fighting. When the Commonwealth told Catholic Charities of Massachusetts that they could not exclude same sex couples from consideration for adoption, I think they just stopped facilitating adoptions altogether, without filing suit. Also, I think that was during the time that the “great conservative” Mitt Romney was governor of the Bay State.
