Bischof Bätzing: Regenbogenflagge auf Reichstag wäre gut gewesen

Der Limburger katholische Bischof Georg Bätzing, hat Bundestagspräsidentin Julia Klöckner (CDU) dafür kritisiert, dass sie am Christopher Street Day auf dem Reichstag nicht die Regenbogenflagge hissen ließ. "Ich finde es schade, dass sie es dieses Jahr abgelehnt hat", so Bätzing, der auch Vorsitzender der Deutschen Bischofskonferenz ist, in einem Interview des "stern". "Es wäre ein gutes Zeichen gewesen. Das sage ich bewusst als katholischer Bischof."
Bätzing spielte damit auf die traditionell ablehnende Haltung seiner Kirche zur Homosexualität an: Im katholischen Katechismus heiße es, gelebte Homosexualität sei "in sich nicht in Ordnung" und "in keinem Fall zu billigen", sagte der Bischof. Er fordert hier eine Korrektur: "Homosexualität ist keine Sünde. Wir haben im Synodalen Weg gesagt, wir wollen das ändern. Auch andere Teile des Katechismus wurden geändert, etwa zur Todesstrafe."
