There was not a single action this priest took that was rigoristic. How he acted was uncommon, however. The scandal is that it had to be the pastor who took action. It should have been mandated by the bishop, with his full and enthusiastic support. Being brazen doesn't make you Catholic. What is the point of having your child in a school which does not teach the 'values' you espouse?! Shame on such parents (although 'shame' is a rather scarce commodity these days.)
