U.S. Benedictine Abbott Credibly Accused of Homosexual Assault

Several Benedictine monks from the Monastery of Christ in the Desert near Santa Fe, New Mexico, have accused Abbot Christian Leisy of homosexual predation, sexual harassment, sexual grooming, and financial misconduct.

The monks filed a complaints with the Vatican’s Dicastery for Religious.

These allegations were made in sworn affidavits from April 2024. Copies of which were published by LepantoIn.org on 22 May, because the Vatican failed to take action.

Abbot Leisy was elected in 2018. Since then, he has reduced the number of monks at the monastery from 75 to just a dozen.

Among the many testimonies from the accusing monks are the following:

- He exposed his genitals to a subordinate monk, enticed him to discuss sexual fantasies, gave him sexually suggestive gifts and masturbated over the phone (of which there is a recording).

- He psychologically manipulated another subordinate monk, made him discuss homosexual pornography and masturbation, and made the monk give him a nude massage.

- Several monks witnessed him in a state of undress with junior monks and grooming novice and junior monks.

- Forced a monk to regularly wash his sexual attire, which was covered in lubricant.

- Sexually assaulted a monk on three separate occasions at the monastery, causing a medical diagnosis of PTSD.

Guess he missed reading the section in the Catechism on the depravity of homosexual behaviors, or he forgot that Francis is no longer the Pope.
