Australian Archbishop: Aborigines Cannot Live as Celibate Priests

The abolition of celibacy for Aborigines is “very likely” and “inevitable”, Brisbane Archbishop Mark Coleridge told TheAustralian.com.au (August 12), otherwise there is "no hope" of ordaining an Aboriginal priest. The racist prelate believes that there is "no way to recruit a celibate clergy in those cultures.” Speaking to CatholicLeader.com.au (August 14), Brisbane's Catholic newspaper, Coleridge added that the original headline End of celibacy nigh went "a way beyond what I actually said, but the article was fair enough."
