No Eucharistic Adoration: Francis Closes the Year 2023

On 31 December, Pope Francis closed the year 2023 with Vespers in St Peter's and the hymn Te Deum.

For the second year in a row, there was no Eucharistic adoration, which is part of the end-of-year liturgy at St Peter's.

Afterwards, as is customary on New Year's Eve, Francis paid a visit to the nativity scene in St Peter's Square.

No Eucharistic adoration? Why is anyone surprised? Francis is not a Catholic, nor is Cardinal Gambetti, the person in charge of the Vatican basilica. No Eucharistic adoration? Why is anyone surprised? Francis is not a Catholic, nor is Cardinal Gambetti, the person in charge of the Vatican basilica. It has been my experience from seeing them in action in my parish, and even when I was still in college 7 years ago, that it is those who were the most liberal and radical (and also many times gay), who have the very least respect for the traditions of the CAtholic Church, MArian and Eucharistic devotions, etc. So it should not come as a surprise that heretics like Francis and his gay crew would supress the Eucharistic adoration which was always traditional at year end Vespers. Not surprising,
But the next Pope will restore everything. Let's have faith that it may be that way, and not always think that it will be even worse than Francis regime next time.
