Detractors of Franciscans of the Immaculate Fail

An Italian judge rejected on November 2 an appeal by Loredana Volpi, who had claimed that her uncle, Father Fidenzio Volpi (+2015), the controversial Vatican Commissioner of the Franciscans of the Immaculate, was “poisoned to death by a coffee containing arsenic”.

Loredana Volpi’s theories were mainly divulgated by the FarodiRoma, a rabidly pro-Francis outlet and leading promoter of conspiracy theories and smear campaigns against the Franciscans and their founder, Father Stefano Manelli.

Pope Francis forced the order under a commissioner in July 2013. To this day he was unable to indicate the reasons for this harsh measure.
