Portugal Starts Its Own “Chartres-Pilgrimage” in the Roman Rite

A new Roman rite pilgrimage will take place in Portugal from Nazaré to Fátima from 10 to 12 October. The main organiser is Lourenço Silveira Viana, a Catholic who works as a commercial risk manager at Siemens Abu Dhabi.

In an interview with InfoCatólica on 26 August, he said that the pilgrimage was created to rediscover Catholicism in Portugal.

Silveira Viana was inspired by similar pilgrimages to Chartres (France), Covadonga (Spain) and Luján (Argentina), and has participated in the Covadonga pilgrimage three times. He says that these pilgrimages are deeply transformative experiences.

A website will soon be launched and will contain practical information about the pilgrimage, as well as registration instructions.

Abortion is legal in Portugal. I hope they focus on condemning abortion because the Our Lady of Fatima never condemned abortion.

I see you don't have respect.

@A . . I don't have the slightest idea what you are talking about.

What is your favorite apparition?

chris griffin

@A . . I don't have a favorite since none, zero, of the apparition's mentioned abortion. I find it incomprehensible that during 25-30 apparitions that no mention was made of the upcoming worldwide scourge of abortion that has murdered more people than all the wars ever fought. I also find it incomprehensible that Mary has Jesus in her womb for 9 months that she would not be eager to warn people about the Satanic nature of abortion.

What is your favorite apparition of Our Lord Jesus Christ?
