Our Lady of Sorrows - Rogier van der Weyden - Descent from the Cross c1435

From 'The Revelations of Saint Bridget of Sweden' - Sorrowful Mary: "When his heart was near to breaking, his whole body shook and his beard fell toward his chest. Right then, I collapsed lifeless to the ground."

I read during my spiritual reading time this morning about how a mystic said Christ revealed to her that Mary's title Our Lady of Sorrows is more pleasing to Him than the title Immaculate Conception because in the latter God created her and ordained she be conceived without sin as a grace for her role as mother of the Savior, whereas in the former case the title Our Lady of Sorrows the Blessed Virgin truly merited by her freely willed cooperation with the sufferings of her Son.

The Merits! So important for everyone, yet most of the people don't care. At the judgment aren't they going against the vices? I remember when Mary said to the Garabandal visionary something like: 'Your hands are empty now' when the girls succumbed to the pressure and denied the reality of the visions.

@In Principio also the image of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal "Rays from Mary's hands symbolize the abundant graces she offers to those who ask for them." But some rays didn't shine because they were graces that are neglected to be asked for.
