Surprisingly Failed: German Bishops REJECT Homosexual Immorality

First text rejected: The German Synod’s 30-page document against sexual morality “Living in successful relationships” received 61% approval among the bishops (September 8) and thus FAILED to gain the necessary two-thirds majority, a requirement for the passage of any resolution.

Among the laity, the text had received the whopping two-thirds majority.

The document wanted to "re-define" Church's sexual teaching and lied that “homosexuality – also expressed in sexual acts – is […] not a sin" and "not to be judged as intrinsically bad.”

After the vote, there was lots of frustration. Crying delegates protested or left the hall.

Birgit Mock, Vice-President of the lay body Zentralkomitee deutscher Katholiken, said: "I don't know what to tell my children after today's meeting."

Presiding Bishop Georg Bätzing of Limburg is "personally disappointed with this vote": "This is a crisis situation."

Irme Stetter-Karp, President of the ZdK, in tears: "Why are we investing so much energy and time here? There are bishops who are not prepared to voice their opinions".

Bishop Helmut Dieser of Aachen does not know how he can still talk about sexuality.

Cardinal Reinhard Marx of Munich is "very disappointed", "The bishops must also stand by their positions publicly and should justify them."

Maybe I was wrong, but the fact that this sodomy vote didn't pass and people like MArx etc. are "frustrated" is a good thing. One of the first acts of the next Pope, hopefully a good traditional CAtholic, should be to remove people like MArx etc. from both the cardinalate and the priesthood. Also to expell from the Vatican and worldwide priesthood, any gay priests, bishops, etc. and to excommunicate …More

Kenjiro, how in the world would this indicate the "...beginning of the end..." 61% and 2/3 of laity were in FAVOR. The only 'bright' spot was that the votes didn't reach a larger level. The headline is very, very misleading.

Yeah... so low for German bishops. I am honestly shocked. Let's pray for the 39 %!

Brigit Mock doesn't know what she can tell her children; how about this, "The 6th commandment condemns sins against purity; sex outside of marriage, homosexuality, masturbation, living in what appears to be a married state without the sacrament of matrimony, and any other act which by its very nature offends God and ignores His prohibition against sins of the flesh."
