Acid Attack Victim Canceled Euthanasia After Meeting With Francis

Consuela Cordoba was disfigured by an acid attack in 2000 and wanted to undergo euthanasia in October, but she changed her mind after a meeting with Pope Francis during his Colombia trip, reports Daily Mail.

Cordoba underwent 87 surgeries to reconstruct her face and still can only breathe with tubes in her nose. She met Francis in an attempt to receive his approval to end her life. Francis refused and told Consuela instead that she was “very brave and very pretty”. This made her change her mind.
