Selective Relativism: Monsignor Pierangelo Sequeri, whom Pope Francis imposed as a new rector of the Institute for Marriage and Family in Rome, tried to justify the Institute's reorientation. Writing on Avvenire in a florid and foggy language, he implied that Catholic doctrine basically represents a - quote - "ideal model of the family" which has little to do with what Sequeri believes to be the reality. Therefore he proposes to leave Catholic teaching aside and to adopt the marriage ideology which presently is spread by those in power. Sequeri will not dare to adopt such a relativist stance when it comes to child abuse, because the powerful will not allow him to do so.
Development: On September 16, Pope Francis tweeted that - quote - "global action is needed in order to reduce pollution and at the same time promote development in poorer countries." Anonimi della Croce points out that Benedict XVI says in his encyclical Caritas in Veritate that - quote - "true development of every person and of the whole of humanity" results from charity in truth, to which Jesus Christ bore witness.
Blasphemy: 24-year-old Nadeem James, a Christian, has been condemned to death in Pakistan for allegedly having sent blasphemous messages through a cell phone application to a Muslim. Presently, 40 people are on death row in Pakistan for having committed blasphemy. Since 1990, Islamic groups have killed extra-judicially another 71 persons, among them Muslims, for alleged blasphemy. Pakistan is a close ally of the Western regimes and of Saudi Arabia.
A Gay Saint: The New Ways Ministry, a gay propaganda organization, is campaigning for the canonization of Franciscan Father Mychal Judge, a chaplain to New York firefighters, who died during the terrorist attacks on 9/11. The gay organization invokes Pope Francis' June directive according to which “the heroic giving of one’s life for others” is “a new possible pathway to sainthood”. Judge was an alcoholic, a self-declared homosexual and a member of the gay propaganda organization Dignity. New York Cardinal Dolan mentioned him at his installation in St Patrick's Cathedral in the same breath with Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton and Saint Frances Xavier Cabrini.
