Another novelty: Pope Francis has decided that the Lenten Spiritual Exercises for the Roman Curia will be held in the “Casa del Divin Maestro” in Albano and not, as usual, in the Vatican. The house is run by the Pauline congregation. The retreat will be led by Roman diocesan priest, Msgr. Angelo De Donatis. He has been the spiritual director of the Roman Seminary and is now parish-priest in the center of Rome.

In yesterday’s morning homily, Pope Francis hammered against faith that becomes ideology – quote: “In ideologies there is not Jesus: in his tenderness, his love, his meekness. And ideologies are rigid, always. Of every sign: rigid. And when a Christian becomes a disciple of the ideology, he has lost the faith: he is no longer a disciple of Jesus, he is a disciple of this attitude of thought.” The pope was certainly alluding at the rigid ideology of relativism that forbids the Church to preach the true doctrine and love of Christ.

The Sisters of Providence of St. Mary-of-the-Woods near Terre Haute in western Indiana are letting a company look for oil on its property. The seismic testing is expected through the weekend. The testing comes after numerous oil finds in the area over the last few years. Superior Sister Denise Wilkinson tells the Tribune-Star the nuns struggled with the decision since they place a high value on environmental protection. She says it came down to needing money to support the congregation's nearly 340 nuns, who have a median age of 78. If the tests are promising, it could be more than a year before drilling would start.

Royal Christening: The Christians are being invited to send their blessings to Prince George and the Royal Family next Wednesday when the Royal baby is christened at the Chapel Royal, St James’s Palace. Premier Christian Radio, Britain’s largest Christian broadcaster, is asking members of the public to add their names to a giant Christening card at a special website – www.premier.org.uk/princegeorge.
