Colombo Archdiocese: "Prayer" to Buddha for Francis

An inter-religious "prayer" service was held for Francis at the Buddhist Mahabodhi Temple in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
An altar was decorated with candles and flowers. The idols above the altar were a large statue of Buddha and pictures of Francis at interfaith meetings with Buddhists.
The Catholic priest present was Rev Jude Chryshantha, a journalist from the Archdiocese of Colombo (National Director of Social Communications).
The Archdiocese of Colombo is headed by Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith, who is considered to belong to the Catholic faction within the College of Cardinals.

More of the same. John Paul II after the all-religions meeting at Assisi which he called in 1986: "For peace we need the prayers of all religions, each in its own identity and quest for truth." Try to square that statement with all Church teaching before Vatican II.

praying to demons -- for a leader who has committed all kinds of blasphemies, including offerings to the pacha-demon and invoking the great grandmother of the west -- excuse me, what is the name of this church - oh, of course, the church of synodality!
