Bishop Rey: "Leo XIV Is A Prudent and Attentive Pope"

Bishop Dominique Rey, who was unjustly removed as Bishop of Fréjus-Toulon, gave an extensive interview to Tribune Chrétienne on 17 November to mark the publication of his new book. He reflects on his 25 years as bishop but denies the state of the Vatican and the Church. Main points

- We have a prudent and attentive Pope. We have seen that he authorized the Mass in the traditional rite, celebrated by Cardinal Burke at St. Peter's in Rome.

- The Church in France still carries an immense missionary potential that only needs to be released.

- Secularization compels us to leave behind a Christianity of habit and rediscover true apostolic boldness.

- Where fervent communities and committed laity arise, the spirit of John Paul II’s new evangelization remains vibrantly alive.

- The Christian faith is both inheritance and promise: fidelity to tradition must go hand in hand with openness to what the Holy Spirit inspires today.

- One must offer clear doctrinal, spiritual, ethical, and anthropological reference points in a volatile and relativistic world.

- My hope comes from Christ’s promise to remain with His Church. History shows that crises never have the last word.

It thus makes more sense that there are no good bishops. A good bishop would take a stand for Our Lord.

Bishop Rey has not been removed from his office. He resigned from his office after publicly asking SINCERLY forgiveness for all the harm his refusals to discern had caused in 22 years of episcopate.
Either his departure was unjust and therefore his request for forgiveness was not SINCER.
Either his apology was SINCERITY, and he had to resign
In both cases, we are told stories.
And as I also know that he has done nothing to repair his refusals of discernment that he has confessed, I reasonably know who tells us stories.
John Paul II simply imprudently appointed bishop a priest who did not have the least religious training sanctioned by a diploma and who did not have 3 months of seminary.
His only religious training would come from the Pentecostal-inspired community that calls itself Emmanuel.

When one has been "baptised in the Spirit", it is normal to consider that one's judgments are guided by the Holy Spirit without seeking to discern truly. Hence the frequent and sometimes unfortunately disastrous multiple faults by which the Congregation of Bishops was seized and took too long to react.
Bergoglio is not at the initiative either of his deviations or of his disgrace.
Bishop Strickland was dismissed by Bergoglio and never asked for forgiveness.
