But now, in your presence, my heavenly host, although you see and know all things in me, yet for the sake of the knowledge and teaching of my bride standing here, who cannot understand spiritual things except through a corporal parable, I make a complaint before you over these five men who are standing here, for they provoke me to wrath in many ways. Just as I, once, in the Law, with the name of Israel, signified the whole Israelite nation, so now by these five men I signify every man in the world.

The first man signifies the leader of the Church and his priests; the second, the evil laity; the third, the Jews; the fourth, the heathens; and the fifth, my friends. But from you, Jew, I exclude all the Jews who are Christians in secret and who serve me secretly in a pure love, a right faith, and a perfect deed. And from you, heathen, I exclude all those who would gladly walk in the way of my commandments, if they only knew and were taught how they should walk and live, and who with their deeds do as much as they know and are able. These shall by no means be judged with you. I now complain over you, o head of my Church, who sit on my seat which I gave to Peter and his successors to sit on with a threefold dignity and power: First, so that they would have the power of binding and loosing souls from their sins. Second, so that they would open Heaven for the penitent. Third, so that that they would close Heaven to the damned and to those who despise my Law. But you, who should be healing souls and presenting them to me, you are in truth a murderer of souls. I appointed Peter as shepherd and guardian of my sheep. But you, however, scatter and wound them. You are worse than Lucifer. For he was envious of me and desired to kill none but me so that he could rule in my place. But you are so much worse, for you do not only kill me by driving me off from yourself by your bad deeds, but you also kill souls by your bad example. I redeemed the souls with my blood and entrusted them to you as to a faithful friend, but you deliver them back again to the enemy from whom I redeemed them. You are more unrighteous than Pilate. He judged no one else but me to death, but you not only judge me as if I were a powerless lord and worthy of no good thing, no, you also judge and condemn the souls of the innocent and let the guilty go free without any rebuke. You are more cruel than Judas who only sold me, but you not only sell me, but also the souls of my chosen men for your own shameful profit and vain name’s sake. You are more despicable than the Jews, for they only crucified my body, but you crucify and torture the souls of my chosen men for whom your malice and your sins are more bitter than from any wound from a sword. And so, since you are like Lucifer and more unrighteous than Pilate and more cruel than Judas and more despicable than the Jews, I complain over you with justice.

To the second man, that is, to the laity, our Lord said: “I created all things for your benefit. You gave your consent to me and I to you. You gave me your faith and promised by oath that you would serve me. But now, you have deserted me like a man who does not know his God. You hold my words for a lie and my deeds as vanity, and you say that my will and my commandments are too heavy. You have violated the faith you promised me. You have broken your oath and abandoned my name. You have separated yourself from the number of my saints and have come to belong to the number of the devils and you have become their friend. You think that no one is worthy of praise and honor but yourself. Everything that belongs to me and that you are bound to do for me appears heavy and bitter for you, but the things that please yourself are very easy for you. Therefore, I complain over you with right, for you have broken the faith you gave me in baptism and later; and for the love I have shown you in word and deed, you mock me and call me a liar, and for my suffering you call me a fool.” (...)

The first proclamation of Jesus Christ was repentance and penance, because the Kingdom of God itself has approached.
Same orientation must have his Church, which he called out from the world (Latin ecclesia).
He calls his disciples, and gives them his word and his commandments, the Holy Ghost in obedience to succeed him - but not to to make them members of an interfaith Association and an ecumenical Church, and the human rights of the United Nations to follow, which encourage the worldwide slaughter of children - especially girls - and homosexuality.
It is scandalous, as Roman numerals Kath. Hierarchy by many sinful and contradictory teachings, what do the faithful Christians, by the instructions of Jesus Christ and takes away his successor!
The teaching of Jesus Christ based on the need of repentance, repentance and faith in him and the Gospel - and not the temptations of Satan to take BB´s, which them puts the world at your feet, if you worship him.

"And we are witnesses to this event and with us the Holy Spirit, God has given them, that obey him." Acts 5.32
Jesus answered: "Verily, verily, I tell you, unless one is born of water and the spirit, so he can not enter the Kingdom of God!" John 3,5-7
The receiving of the Holy Spirit is the spiritual rebirth through the word of God, in obedience to him.

Take care, keep watch with prayer: for you are not certain when the time will be.

When, then, you see in the holy place the unclean thing which makes destruction, of which word was given by Daniel the prophet (let this be clear to the reader).

David Goldman, a Modern Orthodox Jew, is well acquainted with Catholic thought. In an article for PJ Media Goldman reacted to the Pope's spontaneous "brotherly" and not "friendly", as scripted, affirmation of the PA and Abbas. Goldman has more than once evaluated Pope Benedict as the world's leading thinker. Goldman expressed the view that Pope Benedict was prepared to have a smallerand culturally less influential Catholicism, wherein, let me say, the notion of "salvation" is the telos, not the secular well-being of the world. From this point of view, the cognitive, liturgical and symbolic, integrity of the "faith" is central. Pope Francis, on the other hand, has gone in the opposite direction, that is, embracing the entire world as if the crisis, viz., collapsing Church were irrelevant to his mission. As Goldman, a bit ironically says, Francis is primarily interested in saving the whole world, and in secular terms. Secularity being the only way to address the whole world (here the opposition to Benedict), rather than attending to the salvational needs of fewer souls. ---I also note that Pope Francis has expressed somewhat derogatory opinions about Church cogitive positions of the past. Let me take this one step further. As Goethe's Faust once said: "Feeling is everything!" - very charismatic attitude.

Pope Francis has acted in a charismatic manner, i.e., putting "feeling" above reason. Hence, the calling for shared prayer in the Vatican. Peres is an Israeli, but self-admitted non-prayer. In other words, he belongs to the more secular left in Israel. Goldman fruther notes that no "orthodox" believing Jew, religiously speaking, is allowed to pray in buildings with Christian images. I ask: Did Jesus ever call for a prayer session on an equal level with Roman pagans so as to bring about "peace" between the subdued Hebrews and the Roman "occupiers"? For believing Jews, THE Christian center is outside their faith. Let us look at matters secualarly and all reveals itself in its logic.

The Israelis and the Palestinians are in tension, alas, but one of fundamental values. Turn to Memri-tv or Palestinian Watch and one can locate Abbas taking part of groupies a la mosque calling for the death of Jews and Abbas has made it clear that he will never recognize the Jews as a nation and he has made it clear no Jews will be living in the Palestinian state. So, what do we have? An Israeli of little belief who does not pray will pray and a Muslim political leader who refuses recognition of Jews as a people will come together under the direction of a Catholic Pope, and in a central and holy (for the Catholic Faith) location, viz., Vatican in order to pray, pray and pray. (If only Jesus had prayed with Pilot, well, no crucifixion would have been necessary. Of am I being cynical here?) If the goal of the Pope is to save the world (as Goldman suggests), then the real differences between the religions re salvation plays no role. Who cares if Jesus would share prayer with a polytheistic Roman, for afterall both "believers" acknowledge an "ultimate reality (sic)"? Well, back to the narrative.

A non-praying Jew prays with a Jew hating Muslim together with a world saving Catholic Pope for "peace" ( a term here with no cognitive meaning, just a good feeling), all in a place sacred to Catholics. I suggest that a truely believing Muslim and a truely believing Jew and a truely believing Christian would not utter a cognitively vague prayer aimed at secular goals in center of their faith (let us say Mecca). In the case of the upcoming love feast we have a secular Jew (who is an Israeli), a political Muslim (who pushes anti-Jewish ideology for the PA) and a Catholic who is more interested in saving secularly the world (the Israeli/Palestinian tension being but one part of the world) than reforming his shrinking Church for the salvation of souls. From this point of view, it all makes sense. If any believing Catholic takes offense, s/he has clung to an outdated religiosity bent on saving souls and missed the secular point of it all.

“The Antichrist is the reduction of Christianity to an ideology, instead of a personal encounter with the Savior, says the cardinal directing the retreat which Benedict XVI is attending.

Cardinal Giacomo Biffi, retired archbishop of Bologna, delivered that message during a meditation Tuesday, drawing on the work of Russian philosopher Vladimir Sergeyevich Solovyov.

The cardinal's meditation came during the weeklong Spiritual Exercises being attended by the Pope and members of the Roman Curia. The retreat ends this Saturday. The Holy Father suspended his usual meetings, including the general audience, in these days.

According to Vatican Radio's summary of his preaching, the cardinal explained that "the teaching that the great Russian philosopher left us is that Christianity cannot be reduced to a set of values. At the center of being a Christian is, in fact, the personal encounter with Jesus Christ."

Quoting the work "Three Dialogues on War, Progress and the End of History," Cardinal Biffi told his listeners that "the Antichrist presents himself as pacifist, ecologist and ecumenist."

He will convoke an ecumenical council and will seek the consensus of all the Christian confessions, granting something to each one. The masses will follow him, with the exception of small groups of Catholics, Orthodox and Protestants," he said.

The cardinal added that Solovyov says in that work: "Days will come in Christianity in which they will try to reduce the salvific event to a mere series of values."

No cross

In his "Tale of the Antichrist" Solovyov foresees that a small group of Catholics, Orthodox and Protestants will resist and will say to the Antichrist: "You give us everything, except what interests us, Jesus Christ."

For Cardinal Biffi, this narrative is a warning: "Today, in fact, we run the risk of having a Christianity which puts aside Jesus with his cross and resurrection."

The 78-year-old cardinal said that if Christians "limited themselves to speaking of shared values they would be more accepted on television programs and in social groups. But in this way, they will have renounced Jesus, the overwhelming reality of the resurrection."

The cardinal said he believes that this is "the danger that Christians face in our days … the Son of God cannot be reduced to a series of good projects sanctioned by the prevailing worldly mentality."

However, "this does not mean a condemnation of values, but their careful discernment. There are absolute values, such as goodness, truth, beauty," Cardinal Biffi said. "Those who perceive and love them, also love Christ, even if they don't know it, because he is Truth, Beauty and Justice."

The preacher of the Spiritual Exercises added that "there are relative values, such as solidarity, love of peace and respect for nature. If these become absolute, uprooting or even opposing the proclamation of the event of salvation, then these values become an instigation to idolatry and obstacles on the way of salvation."

Cardinal Biffi affirmed that "if Christianity -- on opening itself to the world and dialoguing with all -- dilutes the salvific event, it closes itself to a personal relationship with Jesus and places itself on the side of the Antichrist."

The third temptation in which Satan asked Christ to adore him and all the kingdoms of the world would be His, will become the temptation to have a new religion without a Cross, a liturgy without a world to come, a religion to destroy a religion, or a politics which is a religion--one that renders unto Caesar even the things that are God's.
In the midst of all his seeming love for humanity and his glib talk of freedom and equality, he will have one great secret which he will tell to no one: he will not believe in God. Because his religion will be brotherhood without the fatherhood of God, he will deceive even the elect. He will set up a counterchurch which will be the ape of the Church, because he, the Devil, is the ape of God. It will have all the notes and characteristics of the Church, but in reverse and emptied of its divine content. It will be a mystical body of the Antichrist that will in all externals resemble the mystical body of Christ. . . .
. . . But the twentieth century will join the counterchurch because it claims to be infallible when its visible head speaks ex cathedra from Moscow on the subject of economics and politics, and as chief shepherd of world communism.”
