Plenary Indulgence for the World Meeting of Families.

Benedict XVI has stated that a plenary indulgence may be received by participants of the Sixth World Meeting of Families, as well as families unable to be present, if they join the event in prayer.
Cardinal Ennio Antonelli, President of the Pontifical Council for the Family confirmed this.

"The Holy See, the Holy Father has granted a plenary indulgence, not only for those are present physically, but also to those who participate in the event in Mexico City through the media."

The Pope is granting a plenary indulgence to the faithful, to be attained with the usual conditions (sacramental confession, Eucharistic communion, prayer for the intentions of the Supreme Pontiff, and detachment from all sin), on the days of devout participation in the VI World Meeting of Families.
Faithful who cannot be present at the event can also receive the plenary indulgence if they recite the Our Father, the Creed and other prayers, particularly during the moments when the words and messages of the Holy Father are transmitted by television and radio.
