Why you should never settle for bad coffee, fake friends, or a toxic man
Acting like you don't care isn't cool. Society wants you to just fit in, go with the flow, and accept things exactly as they are. Maybe that soft approach works for some minor areas of life, but it definitely shouldn't be your blueprint for everything.
There are certain areas where you must absolutely refuse to settle for mediocrity. Some things are worth fighting for.
People who don't have the guts to live life on their own terms will always try to make you feel guilty for having ambition. They might call you a snob or selfish, simply because you are chasing what makes you genuinely happy. But look at it this way: if you live your life constantly worrying about what everyone else thinks, you’ll end up with a very safe, very boring existence.
If your passion for life scares people away, let them run. If your drive is too much for someone to handle, let them go.
Your life should be a direct reflection of what you love most and what brings you joy. You shouldn't be afraid to voice that. If you act like you don't care, you’ll end up with a life full of things you don't care about. It’s that simple.
There are a million things out there you cannot control, and you just have to let them go. Usually, that includes anything involving other people—what they think, how they feel, or what they do. You should never base your happiness on expectations of others, because you can't force people to change.
What you can change, however, is what you allow into your personal space. You have total control over your standards and how you choose to live.
So, stop hanging out with fake friends who only use you as a designated drinking buddy. Stop holding onto toxic men who never keep their word and constantly leave you waiting. And never, ever settle for bad coffee. Spend a few extra bucks and buy yourself something that actually tastes amazing.
Life is way too short to waste your energy on things that drain you. Stop playing it cool. Focus heavily on whatever it takes to build your own happiness.
