Eurovison Song Contest 2014 winner Conchita Wurst visited the United Nations offices in Vienna Monday, meeting UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon to discuss the organsitation's role in LGBT rights.
The singer spoke about her "dream" for a future in which people do not find it necessary to talk about their "sexual orientation" or the "colour of their skin" because of her belief that such matters are "not important" for society.
Wurst, whose real name is Tom Neuwirth, won the 2014 song contest for Austria in May and her song contest victory was broadcast before a TV audience of about 180 million in 45 countries.
