It is all in the diary. Everyone should read the entire thing as there is so much more there and it will make your head spin. Outside of the diary it makes no sense that the BVM would ask for the rosary as only she can help us and that that is His will only to have Christ a few years later not mention the Rosary or the immaculate heart and request the chaplet on the rosary beads.

123jussi, hum, never thought about that. Thank you. I always believed Padre Pio. My friend has seen the documentary & came away with only 2 new things regarding Purgatory. The Mystic Stephanie ( don't know her last name) , I am searching though.:) was approved by the church. (this is only what I was told and cannot find it anywhere) The topic of suicide was told to her & what happens to souls.

That is not the same as approval of the apparitions
Ave Crux
@123jussi The following can be found in a Wikipedia article about Sister Faustina.
"On 24 June 1956, Pope Pius XII blessed an Image of the Divine Mercy in Rome, the only one blessed by a pope before the Second Vatican Council.[37]

@123jussi The following can be found in a Wikipedia article about Sister Faustina.

"On 24 June 1956, Pope Pius XII blessed an Image of the Divine Mercy in Rome, the only one blessed by a pope before the Second Vatican Council.[37]

"In 1955, under Pope Pius XII, the Bishop of Gorzów founded a religious order, the Congregation of the Most Holy Lord Jesus Christ, Merciful Redeemer, to spread devotion to the Divine Mercy.[38]

"Under both Pope Pius XI and Pope Pius XII, writings on devotion to the Divine Mercy were given imprimaturs by many bishops, making it an approved devotion.[39]

"Cardinals Adam Stefan Sapieha and August Hlond were among those who gave their approval.[40][41] During the papacy of Pope Pius XII, Vatican Radio broadcast several times about the Divine Mercy.[42]"

And this link explains what is required to "approve" an apparition. It is done by Bishops who review the content of the apparitions to be sure that the following criteria are met. It would appear from the above that this was done:

1. The facts in the case are free of error.
2. The person(s) receiving the messages is/are psychologically balanced, honest, moral, sincere and respectful of church authority.
3. Doctrinal errors are not attributed to God, Our Lady or to a saint.
4. Theological and spiritual doctrines presented are free of error.
5. Moneymaking is not a motive involved in the events.
6. Healthy religious devotion and spiritual fruits result, with no evidence of collective hysteria.it's free from doctrinal error, and that the seer is of sound mind. It appears the normal process was followed.

That article concludes:

"But, because belief in a private revelation is not required by the church, Catholics are at liberty to decide how much personal spiritual emphasis to place on apparitions and the messages they deliver."

And this link explains that the apparitions have received "approval" from the Church.

So it appears to be a matter of private devotion, and spiritual fruits.

The Church has confirmed by its authority that a plenary indulgence would be granted to souls who perform the acts of piety associated with the apparitions.

And since the Church has the power to grant that indulgence, it would appear that the promises don't need to be relied upon exclusively for that assurance.

This is a documentary. Wondering if any Catholics have seen this and if this was approved by the church?
