Spotlights are on the Vatican's Supreme Court, which will meet next January 9, in the afternoon, to decide whether to recuse the Promoter of Justice, Alessandro Diddi, and exclude him from the appeal for the so-called London Trial. The recusal is seen by all as a sort of test on the actual independence of the judging panel, and it was requested in September by the defendants' defenses when they raised Diddi's incompatibility due to a series of interceptions that emerged in the spring, revealing that, in the first instance, the then prosecutor was aware of the manipulations made by the main prosecution witness, Monsignor Alberto Perlasca.
