Israel Turns Bethlehem into a Prison

Franciscan Sister Fayeza Ayad told AgenSir.it (October 24) that Bethlehem is now “sealed off” and “besieged” by Israeli militiamen.

The nun was one of four Franciscan nuns who were in Bethlehem's Church of the Nativity during the 2002 Israeli siege of 240 Palestinian partisans who had entered the church to avoid capture.

Compared to 21 years ago, “the situation is worse now”. No Palestinian can enter or leave the city. The occupation regime has closed all the passages.

The pilgrims have left, the hotels are closed, the shops are empty, poverty has returned.

And yet the Israelis portray themselves as the paragon of virtue, the torchbearers of civilization and righteousness in this campaign against Hamas, Hezbollah, etc. The Israelis think of Israel as ONLY for Jews, and anyone else (non-Jew) who had been living there pre-1948 and as of now and subhumans beneath their contempt.
Although the attack by Hamas of Oct. 7th was totally unjustified and brutal......the Israeli army is no better. Neither are the policies of the Israeli government.
