Cardinal Müller, "I cannot Accept This Style"

Cardinal Gerhard Ludwig Müller criticizes Francis for how he was fired as the Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith. Müller told the Passauer Neue Presse that Francis informed him only on his last day, „within a minute“ and without giving any reasons: “I cannot accept this style.”

Nevertheless Müller called his relationship with Francis “very good”. He wants to remain „loyal“ to Francis and will not allow to be used by those critical of Francis.

Müller recounts, that he spoke to Cardinal Meisner one day before his death. Meisner told him that he worried about the situation of the Church and that he was “personally moved and hurt” by Müller's removal.
