The former archbishop of Cologne, Cardinal Joachim Meisner (+83) died during his holidays in Bad Füssing, Germany. Meisner was one of the cardinals who signed the Dubia (questions) regarding the controversial document Amoris Laetitia.
In February 2013 he belonged to the first group of German bishops who introduced the morning-after pill in the Catholic hospitals of his archdiocese. The Vatican has strongly condemned the use of this pill putting it on the same level as abortion.
